Finolex Industries Limited (FIL) and Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF) are always known to upgrade and uplift existing facilities for the greater benefit of the masses rather than creating new ones. Looking at their successful implementation of NICU at Sassoon General Hospital, they were invited by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Hon. Mr. Kunal Kumar and Guardian Minister Hon. Mr. Girish Bapat to upgrade / uplift corporation hospitals, namely Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Sonawane Hospital, Dalvi Hospital and Kamla Nehru Hospital with infrastructural modifications where PMC will be involved in equipping the NICUs with state-of-the-art equipment.

In anticipation of creation of the state-of-the-art facility at these hospitals, specialized training and up gradation is being provided to eight doctors and 29 nurses to CPAP level. Such training and up-gradation will be provided at hospitals with existing NICU such as Sassoon General Hospital, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital & Bharati Hospital under the guidance of Dr. Aarti Kinikar, Dr. Rajan Joshi & Dr. Pradeep Suryawanshi respectively.
Once the NICU starts functioning at these new hospitals, expert medical care for new born babies will be made available absolutely free of cost.

On this occasion Mrs. Ritu Prakash Chhabria quoted, “We are grateful to all the neonatologists and doctors fraternity who have come together to offer training and handholding to bring Pune together to serve better in the field of neo-natology. It is a matter of honour to be able to serve our city, Pune.”

The MOU for the project is being entered into between FIL / MMF and PMC on 4th December 2017 at 5.30 pm at PMC Mayor’s office in the presence of Hon. Commissioner Mr. Kunal Kumar, Hon. Guardian Minister, Mr. Girish Bapat Hon.
