CSR in Maharashtra has attracted special attention since the state has financial, agricultural, and industrial stands for the Corporate Social Responsibility Act, which the government intends to participate in the private sector in social areas. Earlier, it was optional for private companies to be actively involved in charitable areas. After the enactment of the CSR Act, private companies now have certain criteria fixed by the government for mandatory work in social activities.

The focus areas of CSR in Maharashtra are health, eradicating hunger, poverty, malnutrition, and safe drinking water. Sanitation Education Differently Abled, livelihood, and Environment; Animal Welfare Conservation of Resources; Rural Development; of Gender Equality; Women Empowerment Old Age Homes Reducing Inequalities Encouraging Sports, Heritage Art And Culture. Other Sectors (Technology Incubator and benefits To Armed Forces And Admin Overheads), Slum Area Development Many corporate and public sector companies have made tremendous contributions to society through CSR.

Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Ltd (Mahapreit)

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) rule 2014 has made it mandatory for profit-making corporations in India to spend 2% of the average net profit of the last three financial years for socio-economic development of marginalized communities in rural and urban areas. Corporates always seek credentialed grassroots organizations to implement impactful projects through their CSR funds. Mahapreit Start-up Knowledge Center

(MSKC) collaborates with such corporations through innovative projects to benefit less privileged people. MSKC, with support from corporate CSR funding, has initiated various projects that benefit marginalized and other communities. Being an experienced organization promoted by MAHAPREIT and MPBCDC, the Government of Maharashtra MSKC has a presence in Rural and urban areas. Coordination with local government authorities is easier than with other private social organizations. The CSR program aims to benefit less privileged people through livelihood programs, skill development, and technology promotion.

As a corporate organization, MNGL is always a step ahead in taking responsibility for the welfare and sustainable development of the community. MNGL has been doing philanthropic activities for many years until the CSR law came into force. MNGL is actively working for the welfare of society, for through CSR, MNGL is reaching the underprivileged and marginalized section of society. MNGL implemented CSR projects in Health, Education, Community Development, environment, etc.

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has always undertaken various initiatives to improve the quality of life and ensure the holistic development of its surrounding communities. The company has proudly carried its CSR legacy towards ‘Sustained Inclusiveness’ and being a ‘neighbour of choice’.
