Mizoram has taken many important steps to collaborate on various state and central government schemes when private and public sector units offer to work with them under corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects. Some of the projects have indeed made a major change in the lives of the people in the state.
Mizoram Rural Bank
As part of CSR, Mizoram Rural Bank has provided Financial assistance for a project on the Development of Education in Rural Areas of Mizoram. They have given financial assistance to Mizoram University (MZU) for their project on ‘Development of Education in Rural Areas of Mizoram’ through CSR.
PGCIL
Through its dedicated effort of contributing towards better healthcare facilities, POWERGRID has provided Cold Chain equipment (ice-lined refrigerators and 130 Deep Freezers) in Mizoram under CSR.
REC
REC Limited has committed to providing Rs 7.50 crore to Mizoram State Sports Council (MSSC) to construct the Motorsports Race Track and Sports Complex at Lengpui, Mamit District of Mizoram.
Tata Trusts
Tata Trusts has started a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to create quality-level footballers in Aizawl, Mizoram. The coaches scout for players aged between 12 and 15 years who are put through two rounds of the selection process and are chosen to reside at the CoE to continue their education and receive football training.

Oil India
Oil India undertakes CSR activities in several key thrust areas such as Healthcare, Drinking water and sanitation, education, sustainable livelihood, capacity building and empowerment of Women, Skill Development , Rural Sports, environmental sustainability, Augmentation of Rural Infrastructure, etc. The CSR initiatives are implemented primarily in the company’s operational areas in Mizoram and other Northeastern states.
Megha Enterprise
Megha Enterprise concluded the construction of a temple for the people of Aizawl in Mizoram as part of its CSR activities. Megha Enterprise is also closely associated with an NGO, the Kripa Foundation, which rehabilitates drug addicts.
North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NEDFi)
NEDFi, as part of its CSR activities in Mizoram and North East, has initiated a capacity-building Building program for 562 beneficiaries on skill up-gradation in crafts and other vocational trades. Infrastructure support is provided to 2294 artisans through common facility centres marketing facilities. It also provides mentoring assistance to 579 entrepreneurs in the region through the corporation’s eight business facilitation centers (BFC).
