Peepal Farm encourages people to adopt, not abandon

Dharamshala, 12th April: Peepal Farm, a stray-animal rescue and organic farm, urges people to not abandon pets, in their latest campaign for National Pet Day.

The campaign film touches upon the issue of pet-parents abandoning their pets due to reasons such as inability to care for them , amongst many other reasons. The film features a happy couple with a child, who abandon their child as they wish to avoid the tantrums and responsibility. The story provokes viewers to draw parallels between an abandoned child and an abandoned pet, elucidating how a family is everything for a pet as it is to a child.

With this campaign, Peepal Farm aims at enlightening people about supporting animal lives and nurturing positive changes towards animals and the environment.

Peepal Farm is a group of people with a common goal of doing good, and helping animals heal and be heard. Along with a stray animal rescue, a no-till organic farm, Peepal Farm also empowers women with small scale social enterprise.

The group is inspired by the philosophy of reducing one’s suffering footprint (the suffering we cause while living) and making survival purposeful by doing good.

Raveena, Communications Coordinator of Peepal Farm said “We started Peepal Farm in a small village near Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, in 2015. We built a home for injured stray animals to heal, be heard, and for people who want to help. Our belief is to reduce suffering for animals, and help them heal and be heard. Our latest campaign is a plea to pet owners to not abandon their pets. We also want to encourage people to support animal lives with helping in adoption and volunteering for helping and healing lives. We hope that the film will strike the right chord and open homes for more animals who need love and care.”

Conceptualised by the media team of Peepal Farm, the campaign will be launched on National Pet Day, April 11, 2021, with an aim to reach animal lovers across India and encourage animal adoption and care.
