PM CARES Fund

‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’ (PM CARES Fund)’ has been set up to provide support relief or assistance of any kind relating to a public health emergency or any other type of emergency, calamity or distress, either humanmade or natural, including the creation or up-gradation of healthcare or pharmaceutical facilities, other necessary infrastructure, funding relevant research or any other type of support.

­Globally and in India too, the pandemic of COVID-19 has posed serious challenges for the health and economic security of billions of people. In India, the spread of coronavirus threatens to impact the social and economic stability. Among various measures taken by the government, for a quick decision and disbursal, Prime Minister set a new fund-‘PM Cares Fund,’ that aims to help the millions of people impacted by the COVID-19 virus.

The Board of Trustee

 

A Board of Trustees will help to extend relief to the affected population. It will also evaluate and provide financial assistance, in the form of grants of payments of money.

 

The Nature of PMCF

The Fund consists entirely of voluntary contributions from individuals / organizations and does not get any budgetary support. Donations to PM CARES Fund would qualify for 80G benefits for 100% exemption under the Income Tax Act, 1961. Donations to PM CARES Fund will also qualify to be counted as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) expenditure under the Companies Act, 2013. PM CARES Fund has also got exemption under the FCRA, and a separate account for receiving foreign donations has been opened to accept donations and contributions from individuals and organizations based in foreign countries. However, contributions flowing out of budgetary sources of Government Organizations and the Public Sector Undertakings are not accepted under PM CARES Fund. Formal contribution receipts can be downloaded from the PM CARES Portal after a successful transaction. PM CARES Fund provides assistance and relief in India. Hence, contributions wherein the donor intends donations for the foreign citizens/ calamities abroad are not accepted in the Fund.

Appreciating the gesture

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appreciated the spirit of the countrymen for donating voluntarily in times of crisis. In response to a tweet of a donor who donated Rs.501 to PM CARES FUND, the prime minister said there is nothing big or little and that every contribution mattered and it reflects our collective resolve to defeat Covid-19. People from all sections of society have come forward to donate to the Fund irrespective of whether it is big or meagre.

Using the social media platform, PM reached out to many people in India and abroad.“It is my appeal to my fellow Indians, Kindly contribute to the PMCARES Fund. This Fund will also cater to similar distressing situations if they occur in the times ahead.The PM-CARES Fund accepts micro-donations too. It will strengthen disaster management capacities and encourage research on protecting citizens. Let us leave no stone unturned to make India healthier and more prosperous for our future generations,” PM tweeted on March 28. The clarion call given by Prime Minister evoked strong support within a week more than Rs.6500 crore came into the Fund and at the time of going to print, it was estimated to have crossed more than Rs.10,000 crore. It is a positive gesture from positive people to a positive call amidst negative COVID-19.

People from all walks of life expressed their desire to donate to India’s war against COVID-19. Respecting that spirit, the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund has been constituted. This will go a long way in creating a healthier India.

ONGC

 

ONGC Chairman and Managing Director Mr Shashi Shanker in a statement said –I firmly believe, together we will overcome this national crisis. In response to the Prime Minister’s call to contribute to the newly constituted Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund, Energy Maharatna Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has allocated Rs.300 crore from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. The ONGC initiative came in attempt to strengthen the national drive to fight against the pandemic of COVID-19. Furthermore, 30,100 employees of the National Oil Company ONGC have voluntarily decided to contribute their two days’ salary – amounting to around Rs.16 crore – to the PM CARES fund to support the government in combating this national crisis.”

Department of Fertilizers

 

Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers have donated more than Rs.27 crore to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) fund to fight COVID-19 pandemic. Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Shri D.V. Sadananda Gowda in a series of tweet said, I am very much thankful to the CMDs of these companies for honouring my request to support the efforts of Government of India to fight COVID-19.

Railways

 

Minister for Railways Shri Piyush Goyal,” On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Railways will contribute Rs.151 crore to the PM-CARES fund.” Mr Goyal and Minister of State for Railways Suresh Agadi will contribute their one month salary along with 13 lakh employees of railways.

 

Power

 

Shri R.K.Singh, the Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy has tweeted, “We feel honoured to share that the Public Sector Undertakings of the Ministry of Power & MNRE have decided to contribute Rs.925 crore to the PM- CARES fund with Rs.445 crore being deposited on 31st March and remaining in the first week of April.”The amount of Rs.925 crore includes contribution of Rs.905 crore from PSUs under Ministry of Power and contribution of Rs.20 crore From PSUs under MNRE.

India witnessed the most fantastic response to help fight COVID-19 from individuals, businesspersons, industry and professionals. Millions of small and significant contribution flowed into PM CARES Fund, CSR Times highlights a few for the country to applaud and appreciate.

As a part of steps to make more resources available for Covid-19 relief measures, the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, after contributing one month’s salary to the PM-CARES Fund in March, has decided to forego 30 per cent of his salary for a year. The President has given instructions to the Rashtrapati Bhavan to set an example by economising the expenditure, making optimal usage of resources, and dovetailing the saved money to combat Covid-19 and mitigate the people’s economic plight.

Tata Sons and Tata Trusts contributed Rs.1,500 crore towards the PM CARES fund. The statement released on Twitter read, “We appreciate the PM CARES fund initiative to address the unprecedented effects of COVID- 19. As always, we remain fully committed and united in support of the nation.” Tata Trusts’ contribution will be Rs.500 crore of the total donation. “The COVID 19 crisis is one of the toughest challenges we will face as a race… At this moment, the need of the hour is greater than any other time.”

Wipro Ltd, Wipro Enterprises Ltd and Azim Premji Foundation have together committed Rs.1,125 crore towards tackling crisis arising from the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in India. “These resources will help enable the dedicated medical and service fraternity in the front-line of the battle against the pandemic and in mitigating its wide-ranging human impact, particularly on the most disadvantaged of our society,” Wipro said in a statement.

Reliance Industries led by dynamic business leader Mukesh Ambani donated Rs.500 crore to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PM-CARES Fund on top of the multi-crore initiative he had announced to fight the COVID- 19 crisis. “The need of the hour is also for us to support our marginalized and daily wage communities. Through our meal distribution programme, we aim to feed lakhs of people daily across the country,” added Nita Ambani.

I’m grateful to the Adani Parivaar, our workforce in India for contributing about Rs.4 crore for the battle against #COVID2019. It is because of the solidarity demonstrated by this workforce of more than 17,000 people that the Adani Foundation could add another Rs.4 crore, collectively contributing another Rs.8 crore towards COVID-19 relief projects in India, said Adani in his Linked in Article.

Radhakishan Damani, donated Rs.100 crore to PM Cares Fund to fight against Covid-19 pandemic. He is the promoter of D-Mart retail chain operator Avenue Supermarts. “Our Promoter, Radhakishan Damani through his group company Bright Star Investments Private Ltd donated Rs.100 crore towards the PM CARES Fund and a further Rs.55 crore to various state relief funds,” the company statement said.

Actor Akshay Kumar announced a donation of Rs.25 crore to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PMCARES Fund . He later tweeted “This is that time when all that matters in the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs.25 crore from my savings to Narendra Modi Ji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai.”

Anushka and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund & the CM’s Relief Fund (Ms). Anushka Sharma took to social media to announce that the actress and her cricketer husband Virat Kohli have contributed towards PM-CARES Fund.

Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev announced that herbal products company Patanjali would contribute Rs.25 crore to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PM CARES Fund. Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund is a public charitable trust set up by PM Modi in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. PM CARES FUND GETS SUPPORT FRO M Public Sector Enterprises and Corporate

Responding to the clarion call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 50 big and small Public Sector Units and Corporate open up their heart and purse to help the country fight the pandemic COVID-19, effectively. Each contribution has been applauded by the Prime Minister and appreciated by people of India.

ONGC has allocated Rs.300 crore to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund. Maharatna ONGC is the largest crude oil and natural gas company in India, contributing around 75 per cent to Indian domestic production. Crude oil is the raw material used by downstream companies like IOC, BPCL, and HPCL (a subsidiary of ONGC) to produce petroleum products like Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene, Naphtha, and Cooking Gas-LPG.

Coal India Ltd contributed Rs.221 crore the PMCares Fund. Coal India Limited (CIL) the state-owned coal mining corporate came into being in November 1975. With a modest production of 79 Million Tonnes (MTs) at the year of its inception CIL, today is the single largest coal producer in the world and one of the largest corporate employer. Operating through 83 mining areas and spread over eight (8) provincial states of India.

Indian Oil Corporation contributed Rs. 225 crore to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund. IndianOil, a diversified, integrated energy major with presence in almost all the streams of oil, gas, petrochemicals and alternative energy sources; a world of high-calibre people, state-of-the-art technologies and cutting-edge R&D; a world of best practices, quality-consciousness and transparency; and a world where energy in all its forms is tapped most responsibly and delivered to the consumers most affordably.

BPCL and its employees contributed Rs.175 crore towards PM’S Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES Fund).BPCL employees contributed Rs.4.27 crore by allowing the company to encash their Privileged/ Earned Leaves.

Oil India Limited (OIL) contributed Rs.38 crore to PM CARES FUND. OIL is a premier Indian National Oil Company engaged in the business of exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas, transportation of crude oil and production of LPG. OIL also provides various E&P related services and holds 26% equity in Numaligarh Refinery Limited.

SAIL: The major steel hands with the Nation in its fight against the COVID-19 by contributing Rs.30 crore to the PM CARES Fund and the employees helped with a day’s salary of Rs.9 crore along with this, Mr Anil Kumar Chaudhary, Chairman of the Company said.

BHEL and its employees contributed Rs.15.72 crore to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund. Leveraging BHEL’s enviable strengths, glorious past and contribution towards building, the company has put together a series of initiatives focusing on sustaining growth and profit, asserting leadership in core business sectors, developing people, enhancing digital capabilities and building potentials in new and diversified businesses as well as technologies for sustained growth.

POWERGRID has contributed Rs.200 crore to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES). POWERGRID employees are also contributing a part of their salary towards the cause. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), is an Indian stateowned electric utility company headquartered in Gurugram, India. POWERGRID transmits about 50% of the total power generated in India on its transmission network. 

Power Finance Corporation Ltd. (PFC) has contributed Rs.200 crore to the PM-CARES Fund to support the battle against COVID-19. PFC is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power. PFC was conferred the title of a ‘Navratna CPSE’ in June 2007 and was classified as an Infrastructure Finance Company by the RBI on 28th July 2010. PFC plays a crucial role in the rise of India as a global player. Increasingly, a country’s development is gauged by measuring its energy usage.

Numaligarh Refineries Ltd: NRL, was set up at Numaligarh in the district of Golaghat (Assam) in accordance with the provisions made in the historic Assam Accord signed on 15th August 1985, has been conceived as a vehicle for the speedy industrial and economic development of the region. It has contributed Rs.25 crore to PMCF.

GAIL and its employees have contributed Rs.53.8 crore to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund). Of this, Rs.50 crore was contributed by the Company from its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund while GAIL employees chipped in with Rs.3.8 crore from their salaries.

Housing & Urban Development Corporation Ltd. has contributed Rs.50 crore from CSR funds and Rs.28 crore from the voluntary contribution of one day salary by employees to PM-CARES Fund, for promoting healthcare and relief activities in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) has contribute Minister’s crore to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund. BEL employees contributed one day’s salary amounting to Rs.2.71 crores and Rs.10 crore from its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Fund.

RailTel has contributed Rs.12.15 crore to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Fundency Fund ( PM- CARES fund) from the CSR fund for FY19-20. Besides, the contribution of Rs.15.5 lakh which is the contribution of one day’s salary of RailTel employees.

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), has contributed an amount of Rs.09.02 crore to PM-CARES Fund to aid fight against COVID – 19. The aid has been raised through the contribution of one day salary by the empBDL’ss of the Company and BDL’s CSR funds.

Petronet LNG Ltd has contributed Rs.100 crore to the PM-CARES Fund. PLL being a responsible corporate, Mr Prabhat Singh, MD & CEO, informed. A JoishareholdingVC) has 50 % shareholding of leading 4 Oil & Gas PSUs viz. Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), BPCLimited (BPCL) and GAIL (India) Limited each having an equity PSU’s 5%, totalling to 50% PSU’s shareholding. It is an independent Board managed JVC created for the development of facilities for the import, storage and regasification of Liquefied Natural Gas in the country.

NMDC Limited declared that they would contribute Rs.150 crore to the PM-Cares Fund to help in the fight against COVID -19. This was announced via a tweet by Mr N. Baijendra Kumar, IAS, CMD, NMDC and incorporated in 1958 as a Government of India wholly-owned public enterprise. NMDC is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.Since inception involved in the exploration of a wide range of minerals including iron ore, copper, rock phosphate, limestone, dolomite, gypsum, bentonite, magnesite, diamond, tin, tungsten, graphite, beach sands etc.

HPCL Rs.120 crore to PM CARES Fund, which includes two days salaries of its employees. HPCL owns & operates two major refineries producing a wide variety of petroleum fuels & specialities, one in Mumbai (West Coast) of 7.5 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA) capacity and the other in Visakhapatnam, (East Coast) with a capacity of 8.3 MMTPA. HPCL also owns and operates the largest Lube Refinery in the country producing Lube Base Oils of international standards, with a capacity of 428 TMT. This Lube Refinery accounts for over 40% of India’s total Lube Base Oil production.  

REC Limited has contributed an amount of Rs.150 crore to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-Cares) Fund to support India’s fight against coronavirus. REC came into being in 1969 to articulate a response to the difficulties of the nation. During the time of severe drought, the leaders sought to reduce the dependency of agriculture on monsoons by energizing agricultural pump-sets for optimized irrigation. Its two subsidiaries – RECPDCL (REC Power Distribution Company Limited) and RECTPCL (REC Transmission Project Company Limited) work with REC to provide consultancy services in Distribution and Transmission sectors.

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust contributed the highest Rs.16.40 crore from corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the PM-CARES Fund. JNPT Initially’, it was planned in to be a ‘satellite port’ to the Mumbai Port with a purpose to decongest traffic. In the pre-reform days, Mumbai port faced a lot of issues like shallowness of the channel, congestion on roads Portmbai city linking the port to its hinterland, as well as labour problems. However, over the next three decades, JNPT systematically evolved its operational efficiency and improved its capacity handling to transform itself into a Port at par with global standards.

IREDA: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited is a Mini Ratna (Category – I) Government of India Enterprise under the administrative control of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). IREDA is a Public Limited Government Company established as a Non-Banking Financial Institution in 1987 engaged in promoting, developing and extending financial assistance for setting up projects relating to new and renewable sources of energy and energy efficiency/conservation with the motto: “ENERGY FOREVER”. It contributed Rs.15 crore to the PM Cares Fund.

HDFC Group committed Rs.150 crore to the PM-Cares Fund to support the government for its relief and rehabilitation measures towards the Covid-19 pandemic. “These are uncertain and trying times for all of us. The HDFC Group’s support to the PM Cares Fund,” HDFC Ltd chairman Deepak Parekh said in a statement.

Deendayal Port Trust: It is a seaport in Kutch District of Gujarat state in western India, near the city of Gandhidham. Located on the Gulf of Kutch, it is one of the major ports on the west coast. It was constructed in the 1950s as the chief seaport serving western India. It contributed Rs.8 crore to PMCF.

HAL has pledged Rs.20 crore from Minister’snd to the PM’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund. In addition to it, HAL employees have pledged their one day salary amounting to Rs.6.25 crore “This is a small step from HAL in supporting the Government’s ongoing efforts in the fight against the novel Coronavirus pandemic,” says Mr R. Madhavan, CMD-HAL.

SJVN: A Mini Ratna,category-I and Schedule –‘A’ CPSE under the administrative control of Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.SJVN is presently implementing power projects in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra and Gujarat in India besides neighbouring countries viz. Nepal and Bhutan. It contributed Rs.5 crore to PM CARES Fund.

WAPCOS: A consultancy organisation and public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation of theCompanyment of India. The company provides consultancy services in the fields of water resources, power and infrastructure. It contributed Rs.4crore to PMCF.

NALCO: It is a Navratna CPSE under Ministry of Mines. It was established on 7th January 1981, with its registered office at Bhubaneswar’.’ The Company is a group ‘A’ CPSE, having integrated and diversified operations in mining, metal and power. It donated Rs.5.2 crore to PM CARES Fund.

Paradip Port Trust: Paradip Port is a natural, deep-water port on the East coast of India in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha. It is situated at the confluence of the Mahanadi river and the Bay of Bengal. It is located 210 nautical miles south of Kolkata and 260 nautical miles north of Visakhapatnam. It contributed Rs.8 crore to PMCF.

SECI: Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd is a CPSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), set up on 20th Sept 2011 to facilitate the implementation of JNNSM and achievement of targets set therein. It is the only CPSU dedicated to the solar energy sector. It contributed Rs.5 crore to PMCF.

Kamarajar Port: Located on the Coromandel Coast about 24 km north of Chennai Port, ChPoPortinant port India. The port was declared as a major port under the Indian Ports Act, 1908 in March 1999 and incorporated as Ennore Port Limited under the Companies Act, 1956 in October 1999. It contributed Rs.4 crore to the PM CARES Funds to fight COVID-19.

OIDB: The Oil Industry Development Board was established on 13th January 1975 under the Oil Industry (Development) Act, 1974 to provide financial assistance for the development of Oil Industry. The Oil Industry (Development) Act, 1974 was enacted following a successive and steep increase in the international prices of crude oil and petroleum products since early 1973, when the need of progressive self-reliance in petroleum and petroleum-based industrial raw materials assumed more importance. It contributed Rs.17 crore, to PMCF.

Engineers India Limited (EIL) contributed Rs.1.13 crore as part of its CSR initiative to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance & Relief in PM CARES Fund. EIL is a leading global engineering consultancy and EPC company. Established in 1965, EIL provides engineering consultancy and EPC services principally focused on the oil & gas and petrochemical industries. The Company has also diversified into sectors like infrastructure, water and waste management, solar & nuclear power and fertilizers to leverage its strong technical competencies and track record.

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) extended financial assistance of Rs.6.16 crore towards the PMCARES fund to combat the Corona virus. RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is a Navaratna PSE under the Ministry of Steel. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant fondly called Vizag steel. It is the first shore-based Integrated Steel Plant in the country and is known for its quality products delighting the customers It is a market leader in exceptional products, and it caters to the needs of diverse industrial sectors.

NBCC : NBCC and its Subsidiaries contributed Rs.6.04 crore from CSR Fund to PM Cares Fund for the fight against COVID19.Founded in 1960 as a Govt. of India Civil Engineering Enterprise, NBCC with its Headquarter in Delhi, today, holds the status of Navratna CPSE and has emerged as the undisputed leader in the Construction Sector on the back of its capabilities, innovative approach, adherence to the highest standard of quality, timely delivery and a dedicated workforce.

Ferro Scrap Nigam Limited has contributed an amount of Rs.5 crore to Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation (PM CARES) Fund, towards relief to the COVID-19 affected people. FSNL has over the years evolved as a pioneer organization in the field ofCompanymill services. The company at present is working in eight steel plants in the country, BHEL Haridwar, Rail Wheel Factory Bangaluru and offers services at a very competitive price with technology comparable to other world leaders.

National Projects Construction Corporation Ltd (NPCC): It contributed about Rs.4 Crore to the PM Cares Fund that includes 3-day salary of every employee, ( Rs.2.06 crore) and also Rs.2 crore from the CSR fund. It was incorporated on 9th January 1957 under erstwhile Ministry of Irrigation (Currently Ministry of Jal Shakti) to undertake Irrigation and Hydel Projects. It also acted as a deterrent on price to free run private construction companies. Subsequently, NPCC diversified in other construction fields.

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) contributed Rs.4 crore to the PM Cares Fund that includes 2-day salary of every employee, (Rs.1 crore) and also Rs.3 crore from the CSR fund. MRPL is a schedule ‘A’ Miniratna, Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. MRPL is located in beautiful hilly terrain, north of Mangaluru city, in Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka State (India).

Mangalore Port Trust.: The Mangalore Harbour Project was set up in the year 1962. The maritime works on the project commenced in 1968. The New Mangalore Port, the only Major Port of Karnataka, was declared as the 9th major port on 4th May 1974. The Port is providing all the facilities for handling the cargo of mega Industries like MRPLONGC, OMPL, KIOCL, TOTAL GAZ, MCF, HPCL, IOC, UPCL. It contributed Rs.4 crore to PMCF.

Cochin Shipyard Ltd: It was conceived of in the year 1969 when a team surveyed various locations in India before selecting Cochin for the launch of the first Greenfield Shipbuilding Yard in the country.CSL has established tie-ups with select specialist firms from near-east, far-east, South-east, Europe and USA for technology transfer & material packages for shipbuilding, ship repair, platforms, rigs & up-gradation of yard facilities. It contributed Rs.2.5 crore to PMCF.

The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI), has contributed Rs.1.27 crore to PM-CARES fund Starting out as a marginal Liner shipping Company with just 19 vessels, the SCI has today evolved into the largest Indian shipping Company. The SCI also has substantial interests in various segments of the shipping trade. SCI’s owned fleet includes Bulk carriers, Crude oil tankers, Product tankers, Container vessels, Passenger-cum-Cargo vessels, Phosphoric Acid / Chemical carriers, LPG / Ammonia carriers and Offshore Supply Vessels.

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), contributed Rs.1.14 crore to the PM CARES Fund. It is a Group company of Indian Oil Corporation, an Indian state-owned oil and gas corporation headquartered in Chennai, India, plays the role of a mother industry supplying feedstocks to the neighbouring industries in Manali. CPCL’s products are marketed through IOCL. CPCL’s products are mostly consumed domestically except naphtha, fuel oil and lubes which are partly exported.

Balmer Lawrie: A Mini-Ratna-I Public Sector Enterprise, under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas of India. It has six Strategic Business Units – Industrial Packaging, Greases & Lubricants, Leather Chemicals, Travel & Vacations, Logistics and Refinery & Oil Field Services, with offices spread across the country and abroad. It contributed over Rs.1.28 crore to PM CARES Fund for battling COVID-19.

Deen Dayal Port Trust: It is the earliest major port in the country. The premier port is called the gateway to Eastern India. It is the guiding factor to trade and commerce of vast hinterland comprising entire Eastern India including Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh and the two land-locked Himalayan Kingdoms of Nepal and Bhutan. Contribution to PMCF: Rs.1 crore.

Visakhapatnam Port Trust: Visakhapatnam Port is one of the ports of India. The Port has three harbours viz., outer harbour, inner harbour and the fishing harbour. The outer harbour with a water spread of 200 hectares has six berths, and the inner harbour with a water spread of 100 hectares has 18 berths. Contribution to PMCF: Rs.1 crore.

Mumbai Port Trust: Mumbai Port has long been the principal gateway to India and has played a pivotal role in the development of the national port, trade & commerce. The port has achieved this position through continuous endeavour to serve the changing needs of maritime trade. It contributed Rs.1 crore to the PM CARES Fund.

Directorate of Lighthouses and Lightships (DGLL) The Directorate General of Lighthouses and Lightships is a subordinate office under the Ministry of Shipping. It provides General Aids to Marine Navigation along the Indian coast. Our motto is to provide safe and secure navigation in the Indian waters It has pledged Rs.1 crore to PMCF.

Bharti Enterprises and its companies, Bharti Airtel, Bharti Infratel, contributed over Rs.100 crore to PM CARES Fund to fight against COVID-19.

Kotak Mahindra Bank and its Managing Director Uday Kotak announced a Rs.60-crore donation. The bank will donate Rs.25 crore to PM Cares Fund.

Indus Towers, the telecom towers company contributed Rs.35 Crores to the PM Cares Fund as a committed partner in supporting the country’s fight against COVID-19.

LIC of India also contributed Rs.105 crore to the PM CARES fund along with Rs.5 crore from the LIC’s Golden Jubilee Fund. LIC reaffirms its solidarity in supporting the efforts of the Govt. of India in combating the global pandemic. LIC Chairman M.R. Kumar said India is facing a huge challenge in the wake of the global pandemic, which is unprecedented in its severity. “…we will take every step to ensure safety and security of the people and relief for the affected,” he added.

Engineering and construction company Larsen & Toubro has pledged Rs.150 crore to PM CARES Fund along with Rs.500 crore per month to support about 160,000 contract workers.

TVS Motor Company and its Group Companies TVS Credit Services Ltd., Sundaram-Clayton Ltd., donated Rs.25 crore to the PMCARES Fund to support in the battle against COVID-19. “This is in line with the company’s continuous endeavour to ensure prosperous and sustainable communities. It is in addition to the ongoing activities being already undertaken through Srinivasan Services Trust, the CSR arm of the group,” it said in a statement.

MD and CEO of Motilal Oswal Group contributed Rs.5 crore to PM-CARES Fund. He tweeted: At this time, when all of us need to help our fellow Indians in whatever way we can…Let’s all save lives and fight the #COVID19 crisis together. Health is Wealth.

Hero MotoCorp donated Rs.50 crore to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. It also announced that another Rs.50 crore would be used for distributing medical equipment, food, and essentials, as well as providing other relief measures by Hero Group companies.

Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, donated Rs.50 crore to the PM CARES FUND to support efforts towards fighting COVID-19 in India. The Foundation contributed half another Rs.50 crore acquisition of medical and PPE equipment for multiple military and government hospitals across the country to support various NGOs that provide food and hygiene kits to thousands of people in need.

Asian Paints has committed Rs.35 crore to fight COVID -19 to the PM CARES Fund. “As a socially responsible company, Asian Paints is committed to providing necessary support towards various relief measures announced by the Government to combat Covid-19,” said KBS Anand, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Asian Paints.

Vedanta has contributed Rs.101 crore to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund. It will fund up to Rs.200 crore in providing relief measures to communities at large across the country, the company said in a statement.

The Indiabulls Group would contribute Rs.21 crore towards PM CARES Fund to tackle the coronavirus pandemic. “This outbreak has spared no nation, and it will take the collective spirit of our entire country to best fight it. Indiabulls Group will aim to support every effort towards that objective,” said Sameer Gehlaut Chairman Indiabulls Group. The group hopes to keep supporting the exemplary work done by the Centre and state authorities in conjunction with healthcare professionals across the country, as they lead the unsung efforts against the pandemic, said in a statement.

Dredging Corporation (DCIL) has emerged as a leading enterprise in India in the field of dredging. Facing the new challenges and opportunities, DCIL is determined to enhance its business of dredging needs of ports, marine structures, Project Management Consultancy and shallow water dredging services. It contributed Rs.1crore PMCF.

The Central Armed Police Forces contributed Rs.116 crore, a total of the one-day salary of its personnel to PM CARES Fund.

NHPC has contributed Rs.50 crore (including Rs.10 crore by its subsidiary NHDC) from CSR fund of FY 2019-20 and FY 2020-21 to the PM CARES, Fund. NHPC Limited has become the largest organisation for hydropower development in India, with capabilities to undertake all the activities from conceptualization to commissioning in relation to setting up of hydro projects. NHPC Limited has also diversified in the field of Solar & Windpower.

Chairman and MD of T-Series Bhushan Kumar donated Rs.11 crore to PM-CARES Fund.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) along with the affiliated state associations on Saturday announced to donate Rs.51 crore to the PMCARES Fund to contribute towards strengthening the nation’s disaster management capacities and encourage research to combat COVID-19 and protect Indian citizens.

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has contributed a total of Rs.25 crore from its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative Fund that includes one day salary of Minister’ses to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund. A NAVRATNA company under the Ministry of Coal was set up in 1956. Its present Mining Capacity is 30.6 MTPA ( Lignite), Power Generation Capacity (including JVs): 3640MW (Lignite),1000MW (Coal), 1352.56 MW (Solar), 51MW (Wind). The total: 6043.56 MW.

Pradeep and Pankaj Rathod of the Cello Group donated Rs.3.5 crore to PM-CARES Fund.

Hyundai Motor India donated Rs.7 crore to the PM CARES Fund to fight the Covid-19 crisis. “Our contribution to the PM CARES Fund stands testament to solidarity we hold with the people of India, amidst this crisis,” Hyundai Motor India MD and CEO SS Kim said.

NTPC has contributed Rs.50 crore to PM CARES Fund to strengthen the fight to contain the spread of COVID. The NTPC Employees’ salary contribution was Rs 7.50 crore. Another Rs. 15.20 crore has been earmarked through various company units for undertaking various activities related to COVID-19 preventive relief. NTPC is India’s largest energy conglomerate with roots planted way back in 1975 to accelerate power development in India. Since then, it has established itself as the dominant power major with presence in the entire value chain of the power generation business. From fossil fuels, it has forayed into generating electricity via hydro, nuclear and renewable energy sources.
