Some insights from overall CSR spending in Punjab are similar to the national CSR story: the corporate sector is emerging as an important player in the development of Punjab. Many crores of CSR funds have been invested in Punjab’s social development projects in the last few years.

Punjab Government, through its CSR initiatives, continues to enhance value creation in the society and in the community in which it operates through its services, conduct andinitiatives to promote sustained growth for the society and community in fulfilment of its role as a Socially Responsible corporate with environmental concern.

Punjab Small Industries & Export Corporation Limited (PSIEC)

The present CSR Policy of PSIEC is being documented with the candid objective of formalising the Corporation’s CSR Policy within the framework prescribed under the Companies Act, 2013 provisions, and read with CSR Rules, 2014.

This policy, which encompasses the corporation’s philosophy for delineating its responsibility as a corporate citizen and lays down the guidelines and mechanism for undertaking socially useful programmes for the welfare & sustainable development of the community, is the “Corporate Social Responsibility Policy of PSIEC.”

Punjab Chemicals and Crop Protection Limited

The company firmly believes in Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), and all CSR initiatives are directed to contribute to the harmonious and suitable development of society and its inhabitants. The company undertakes the following CSR activities in local areas of the manufacturing sites.

Infrastructure in schools in various villages in Punjab and Maharashtra has been developed. Upgrading Medical Facilities in Hospitals. Organising Medical/Eye/Blood Donation Camps. Plantation of Trees in surrounding areas. Community development can be achieved by adopting ponds and various rural development projects.

Punjab State Transmission Corporation Ltd

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy to be pursued by the corporation forms an overall business policy aligned with one of its missions of pursuing holistic social responsibilities. The policy reaffirms the corporation’s commitment to its stakeholders to conduct business in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable manner that is transparent and ethical. The focus of CSR initiatives is on geographic areas impacted during its work and operation, including districts, towns or cities where the corporation’s offices, including Grid Substations, are located.

Punjab and Sind Bank

The scope of the policy will include socio-economic, environmental, and cultural upliftment activities other than those statutory and welfare activities in the areas near PSB operations, especially backward regions. The focus will be on the community. The Bank can undertake the activities under the scheme independently or in partnership with Voluntary Bodies, NGOs, Autonomous Bodies, Statutory Agencies, and State and Central Government Agencies.
