Bengaluru, March 2022: HGS, in association with the Hinduja Foundation, has taken up the holistic rejuvenation of the 42-acre Mugalur Lake in Anekal Taluk, Bengaluru. The year-long project encompasses water table rejuvenation, lake fencing, bund construction, biodiversity preservation, and plantation drives. Along with the holistic rejuvenation, the project also includes education and awareness campaigns to aid farmers and local communities in water conservation.
Sharing her views on the occasion, Shilpa Sinha Harsh, SVP – Corporate Communications, CSR and D&I, HGS said, “Water conservation and management is the need of the hour and we at HGS have made this one of our key priorities. Solving the water problem will need collective action and the Mugalur lake restoration is a step in that direction. While funding outreach efforts is one way to ensure impact, active participation through volunteering is another, which is also a part of our culture at HGS. Since the inception of our employee volunteering program, we have witnessed over 35,000 volunteers positively impact over 100,000 lives across our global locations.”
The project is all set to benefit around 400 households in the area once it gets completed.
