SRL Diagnostics contributes 2.95cr to ICMR under CSR Commitments

National, 22 June 2021: To further strengthen the ongoing fight against the pandemic, SRL Diagnostics – one of India’s leading diagnostic chains, has donated over INR 2.95cr to the Indian Council of Medical Research. As part of their CSR initiative, the cheque was presented by Anand K., CEO, SRL Diagnostics to Dr. Balram Bhargava, Director General, ICMR.

Sharing details about the initiative, Mr. Anand K., CEO, SRL Diagnostics, mentioned, “Healthcare system has been tirelessly working round the clock to ensure continuous support to the nation since the beginning of the pandemic. Our team at SRL have ensured accurate and quick COVID and COVID allied tests since last April. In line with SRL’s strong commitment to Research & Development, we saw it fit to donate to the country’s apex research body.”

Dr Balram Bhargava, Director General, ICMR added, “SRL Diagnostics has been at the forefront of the fight since March 2020 and has done a commendable service in diagnostics. We appreciate SRL’s contribution to R&D through their CSR corpus.”

The fund to ICMR is duly approved CSR fund as per Schedule VII of Section 135 of the Companies Act. The ICMR has always attempted to address itself to the growing demands of scientific advances in biomedical research on the one hand, and to the need of finding practical solutions to the health problems of the country, on the other. This funding will support ICMR’s research on CoVID variants through genomic sequencing.
