2nd February 2023, Mumbai: The Global Institute of Sports Business, India’s premier sports management institute, has affiliated with Sisters in Sweat, India’s leading women’s fitness and sport community, to raise awareness and opportunities for female participation in sports management.
The partnership aims to encourage women to participate in sports in areas such as education, management, and even as athletes. GISB will allow its students to conduct academic research projects while also assisting Sisters in Sweat with their various strategies and activations.
Sisters in Sweat will conduct academic sessions and offer internship opportunities to select female students on an ongoing basis. The two organisations will also collaborate to host seminars to encourage female participation in sports business.
Speaking on the affiliation, Ms. Niddhi Mehta, Head of Mumbai Operations shared, “Sisters in Sweat aims to build a culture of women’s sport and women in sport. This affiliation will allow women to see that sport is space that they can exist in as well as contribute to’’
In addition, GISB’s Program Director, Mr. Reuben Borah added, “ As India’s sports sector grows, GISB continues to make an impact by developing leaders who serve the ecosystem. Our affiliation with Sisters in Sweat will complement the excellent platform we are already providing to encourage female participation in sports management.”
The one-of-a-kind collaboration will not only raise awareness about sports education and management, but will also encourage more women to join the growing sports ecosystem. This will pave a way forward for both entities to make a positive impact on the sporting ecosystem in India by making it more inclusive, further reaffirming the principle of ‘Sports for all’.
