Arohan Financial Services Limited initiates a Hearing Screening and Intervention Programme benefitting 1600 newborns

18th March 2024: Arohan Financial Services Limited has taken a significant step towards community welfare with the initiation of a Hearing Screening and Intervention Programme, benefiting 1600 newborns. This commendable endeavor carried out in collaboration with Vaani Deaf Children’s Foundation, underscores the company’s commitment to social responsibility and supporting Children with Hearing Impairment (CWHI).

The program, tailored for newborns in eastern India, where Arohan Financial Services Limited is headquartered, is pioneering in its approach. Its primary focus on early detection of hearing loss in newborns addresses a crucial aspect of child health, ensuring timely interventions that can significantly impact their developmental trajectory.

The venue for this impactful initiative was the NBHS Serampore Walsh Super Speciality Hospital in Hooghly district, West Bengal. This choice of location highlights the strategic partnership between Arohan Financial Services Limited and the healthcare infrastructure in the region. Moreover, the comprehensive training provided to the hospital healthcare workers underscores a holistic approach toward tackling hearing impairment among newborns. By equipping healthcare professionals with the skills to offer counseling services to parents, the program extends its impact beyond screening and intervention, fostering awareness and support at the family level.

Ms. Kanchan Banerjee, Head of HR, T&D, CSR, and Admin, “This initiative is deeply aligned to our purpose of serving the communities that we operate in, beyond credit. Although it has just been a year since the inception of the program, it has moved from operating in one corner of a general ward to now a dedicated room in the hospital. The program is scalable and with the phenomenal response that we’ve received, we are encouraged to think of replicating it in other districts as well.”

The Executive Director of Vaani Deaf Children’s Foundation, Sumedha Joglekar, expresses gratitude towards Arohan Financial Services Limited for executing such an impactful project. “We are thankful to Arohan for executing such an impactful project. Their commitment to the community has greatly contributed to fulfilling our societal objectives.”

In conclusion, Arohan Financial Services Limited’s Hearing Screening and Intervention Programme stands as a shining example of corporate citizenship and social impact. By leveraging partnerships, community engagement, and a commitment to continuous improvement, the program sets a precedent for holistic healthcare initiatives aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable populations.
