BL Agro’s Five-Year CSR Commitment to Sports Excellence

6th January 2025: Celebrating the phenomenal achievements of Uttar Pradesh athletes at the Paris Paralympics 2024, BL Agro Industries Ltd. has announced a comprehensive five-year support program for National Sports Awards 2024 winners. This initiative, a part of BL Agro’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aims to empower para-athletes to achieve greater heights.

As India celebrates its finest sporting talent, BL Agro, a leading name in the Indian FMCG sector, has announced its five-year commitment to supporting the winners of the National Sports Awards 2024 under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The awards, are to be presented by the President of India on January 17, 2025, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, to celebrate outstanding contributions to Indian sports. Honorees include:

  • Praveen Kumar (Para-Athletics – Men’s High Jump): Recipient of the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2024.
  • Preeti Pal (Para-Athletics – Women’s 100m & 200m)
  • Ajeet Singh (Para-Athletics – Men’s Javelin Throw)
  • Simran (Para-Athletics – Women’s 100m & 200m): Each awarded the Arjuna Award 2024.]

As part of this pledge, BL Agro will provide winners with financial assistance for advanced training programs, cutting-edge sports equipment, international exposure, and access to world-class coaching facilities. The company will ensure holistic development and sustained excellence for these athletes.

Expressing his admiration, Ashish Khandelwal, Managing Director of BL Agro and patron of U.P. Para Sports Association, said, “The grit and determination displayed by our para-athletes is truly inspiring. They made us, and India, proud. At BL Agro, we want to nurture this talent and help these champions continue their journey of excellence. With this initiative, we will ensure that they have all the resources they need to scale even greater heights.”

The initiative was lauded by leaders in the sports community. Dr. Deepa Malik, Chairman of the U.P. Para Sports Association, remarked, “Recognition is vital, but continued support is what transforms potential into lasting impact. BL Agro’s commitment would be a game-changer for Indian para-sports. This kind of sustained support could nurture more talent and drive meaningful change in the lives of athletes.”

BL Agro’s initiative is a testament to its vision of leveraging its success as one of India’s leading FMCG companies to drive social impact and foster inclusivity. It includes mentorship opportunities and scholarships for upcoming para-athletes, further solidifying BL Agro’s role in creating a thriving sports culture.
