Choodasandra Lake conservation 2025

BGSW and SayTrees Mark Major Milestone in Reviving Choodasandra Lake in Bengaluru

2nd April 2025: Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW) and SayTrees have successfully restored the 26-acre Choodasandra Lake in Bengaluru, transforming it from encroachments, overgrowth of weeds and deterioration of water quality into a thriving hub for biodiversity and community engagement. Launched in December 2022, the two-year conservation project was commemorated at the lake by Mr. Dattatri Salagame, CEO, President and Managing Director of BGSW. Shilpa Deodhar, Head of CSR, BGSW, emphasized the project’s significance, stating, “Choodasandra Lake was restored due to its crucial role in Bengaluru’s water ecosystem and the severe challenges it faced, including encroachments, untreated sewage, and deteriorating water quality. This initiative exemplifies how corporate social responsibility, technical expertise, and community participation can drive meaningful environmental change. By addressing key issues such as desilting, sewage diversion, and biodiversity restoration, we have set a benchmark for sustainable urban water conservation with a phased approach that ensures long-term impact.” Choodasandra

Spreading Festive Joy: CityKart’s Give Back to the Community Initiative”

Akums Paving the Way for a Greener Future with Rooftop Solar Power Plant

31st March 2025: Akums, India’s pioneering CDMO and one of the early starters in the business of pharma manufacturing, is making a large stride towards a greener and more sustainable tomorrow. Akums has successfully installed a 600 kWp on-grid rooftop solar power plant on its warehouse premises in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The grid-connected solar panel, placed across a 56,000 sq. ft. region on the rooftop, is anticipated to produce more than 7.5 lakh units of solar power each year, according to calculations of trapping sunlight for 5 hours daily. With this project, the company can save a significant amount on electricity usage per annum, amounting to huge savings on energy expenditure while preserving the environment. The environmental footprint of this initiative is high. Using the energy produced by solar power, Akums will be conserving the equivalent of over 10,000 trees per year, emphasizing its mission for sustainability and minimizing dependence on conventional energy

This initiative will improve maternal and pediatric care in the region with best-in-class equipment and facilities. Maruti Suzuki to implement Integrated Traffic Management System in partnership with Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority and Utkrisht Society for Safe Haryana

6th March 2025: Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) as part of its CSR initiatives has partnered with the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and Utkrisht Society for Safe Haryana (a Society belonging to Haryana State Police) to implement an Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) in the city. The ITMS will be installed and maintained at 23 junctions across 4 road stretches covering 40 kilometers in Gurugram aided by ~400 cameras and a radar system. This project is funded as a CSR initiative by MSIL. The ITMS for these cameras will be set up by Maruti Suzuki and integrated with the GMDA system. Maruti Suzuki, GMDA, and the Utkrisht Society for Safe Haryana signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) today to support this initiative.
