Literacy India’s – Lakshya Career Mela addresses placement challenges and empowers over 500 community members

28th December, 2023: The second edition of Literacy India’s flagship event – the Lakshya Career Mela was organised on December 21st and 22nd 2023 at Gurugram. The theme of this year’s event was ““Blueprint for Unlocking Potential to innovate, collaborate, and thrive.” Students aspiring to shape their future careers availed career guidance here.

The Lakshya Career Mela 2.0 addressed placement challenges with active participation from the industry. This event which provided a platform for skilled students to connect with potential employers, saw participation from Dell Technologies, M-Cube, Times-Pro, GMR, IOTA, and more,

Tailored training programmes that focused on both technical and soft skills and aligned closely with the needs of the industry were an important aspect here. Support was offered for aspiring entrepreneurs through mentorship and funding opportunities. Strong industry collaboration, and adapting training programmes based on feedback were evident. The attendees benefitted through networking opportunities, career guidance and a dedication to technology integration.

A holistic approach to vocational skills was reinforced with the announcement of Lakshya’s strategic alliance in the Banking, Logistics, Hospitality and Retail sectors. A brighter and inclusive future across India was reiterated by this initiative through its commitment to sustainable employment and a continuous evaluation of sector specific initiatives.

Literacy India has endeavoured to address the critical shortage of skilled workforce and empowered the youth in the communities.

Lakshya’s mission was a guiding force to empower the youth to innovate, collaborate and thrive in the landscape of evolving career opportunities.

This movement is led by the Founder of Literacy India, since 1996, Captain Indraani Singh who is an Aviator with 33 years of service in Air India.

She mentioned that Lakshya was about nurturing and future-proofing the youth, who were poised to conquer the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.

Senior Director at Dell Technologies, Vikhyat Singh, said that that Career Mela stood as a dynamic platform for students and youth to explore diverse skill areas. The Dell- supported program that had a remarkable impact on over six lakh beneficiaries exemplified the transformative power of CSR and employee giving.
