SHRM India and Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC) collaborate to Enhance Workforce Skills and Competencies

 

9 September, 2023: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), was signed between The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) India and Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC), with the objective of introducing a paradigm shift in skill development and capacity building endeavours spanning India’s diverse workforce.

This collaboration was formalized on October 2023, spelling out a mutual dedication to transformative change, increasing employability and generating vast opportunities covering various industries. SHRM India and HSSC have jointly embarked on a journey of joint initiatives that are aimed at strengthening the skilled workforce of India.

This partnership is aligned with the objectives of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG), which will go a long way in establishing India as a centre for skill development and workforce excellence. 

CEO-SHRM India, APAC & MENA Ms. Achal Khanna expressing her views on this collaboration said that their teaming up with HSSC reinforced their commitment to creating a future ready workforce and fostering skill development. Together they aspired to make a meaningful impact on the economic and social fabric of India. Their shared ambition she added, was to create a significant impact on the economic and societal progress of India. This would have a lasting and positive influence in the growth trajectory of India.

Chief Executive Officer, HSSC Mr. S K Bose, while commenting on this partnership said that this was a transformative step in the direction of enhancing the capabilities and skills within the hydrocarbon and its related sectors. Along with SHRM India their objective is to empower the Indian workforce to do well and succeed in the evolving global environment. 

HSSC and SHRM India will take on purpose driven projects that focus on skill development, capability building and allied activities. The scope and objectives of the projects will be defined in detail and will be based on mutual agreement.
