3rd June 2024: HMD, in partnership with the Samarthanam Trust, recently teamed up to conduct a joint initiative aimed at empowering people with disabilities (PwDs). The event, held at Samarthanam Trust’s premises, focused on providing essential assistive devices, promoting independent living, and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

Through this collaborative effort, HMD and Samarthanam Trust have embarked on a mission to provide essential assistive devices that enable people to overcome challenges, reduce secondary health complications, and unlock new educational and employment opportunities. By equipping individuals with vital tools, this initiative aims to foster independence, alleviate caregiver stress, and promote an inclusive society where everyone can thrive.

The project mobilizes resources to provide assistive devices, empowering people to function independently both indoors and outdoors. By enhancing their comprehensive functional abilities, individuals can actively participate in various aspects of life, including socio-economic, cultural, political, sports, arts, culture, recreation, and leisure activities.

Commenting on the campaign, Ravi Kunwar, VP, of India & APAC, HMD said, “We are honored to collaborate with Samarthanam Trust in their noble mission. This partnership resonates deeply with our core values of inclusivity and equality. At HMD, we are dedicated to fostering a more inclusive world, where everyone, regardless of their abilities, has equitable access to opportunities and can lead lives filled with dignity and independence. Through this initiative, we are committed to leveraging technology to dismantle barriers, bridge divides, and empower people to thrive and excel in an increasingly digital society.”

Narendra Pandey, Manager of Corporate Partnerships and CSR at Samarthanam Trust expressed his gratitude, stating, “We are thankful to HMD for their invaluable support and dedication to this cause. Together, we are paving the way for a society that embraces diversity and empowers individuals to reach their full potential.”

This joint initiative between HMD and Samarthanam Trust marks a significant step towards creating a more equitable and inclusive world, where people with disabilities can live independently and participate fully in all aspects of life. By breaking down barriers and fostering independence, this partnership aims to inspire others to join the movement and contribute to a future where no one is left behind.
