Indo-Rwandan Cultural Night Celebrates “Art for Peace” in New Delhi

11th July 2025: In celebration of Rwanda National Day, the High Commission of Rwanda, in collaboration with Chavara Cultural Centre and with the support of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, hosted the Indo-Rwandan Cultural Night: “Art for Peace” at the Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts, in New Delhi. The evening brought together an audience of approximately 400 guests, including members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, academics, civil society representatives, and members of the Rwandan community residing in India. The highlights of the programme included captivating performances of traditional Rwandan songs and dances by a troupe of Rwandan students studying in India, alongside Indian songs presented by Indian dancers. 9th July 2025: Embassy Group has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Education, Government of Karnataka, to support the holistic development of Government Schools across Bengaluru. The three-year agreement, effective from May 2025 to April 2028, aims to provide educational resources, infrastructure upgrades, and comprehensive health programs across 40 Government Schools, with a proposed budget of ₹15 crore. 9th July 2025: Omega Forum for Social Impact (OFSI), the CSR arm of Omega Healthcare, in association with Katradi, an initiative of Wind Dancers Trust (India), successfully concluded She Matters 2.0, a Radical Immersion Leadership Camp that brought together women from marginalised communities at Mannmuqi Village. Using immersive traditional arts such as storytelling, theatre, dance, and other forms of creative expression as powerful tools for self-discovery, the three-day programme helped participants develop sensitivity towards caste and gender-based barriers, build financial literacy, and reclaim their voices as grassroots leaders.
