23rd December 2024: Sri Kurumba Educational and Charitable Trust, the philanthropic arm of Sobha group, today laid the foundation stone for Devi Home in Moolamcode, Palakkad. This unique philanthropic initiative is designed to provide a safe and nurturing housing facility, for orphaned girls aged 10 years and below and elderly women aged 50 years and above, offering them a welcoming environment and a dignified life. Devi Home will accommodate 144 residents—72 young girls and 72 elderly women—from underprivileged backgrounds across Kerala, with an initial preference for the three economically backward panchayats of Kizhakkencherry, Vadakkencherry and Kannambra in Palakkad district in Kerala. 23rd December 2024: Asset Reconstruction Company (India) Ltd. (Arcil) has inaugurated two transformative projects aimed at improving educational infrastructure in rural government schools in Dahanu taluka of Palghar district. These CSR initiatives, executed in collaboration with two NGOs – Kokan Kala Va Shikshan Vikas Sanstha and Santhwana Trust, with a focus on enhancing sanitation facilities and providing solar energy solutions to local schools respectively. The first project targets the Savate Zilla Parishad School, which currently serves 343 students, including 185 boys and 158 girls. The school had faced considerable challenges due to inadequate sanitation facilities. This program focuses on leveraging driving skills to create an active and enduring income channel for these women. Implemented by PAHAL NGO, this initiative aims to create sustainable pathways for women’s economic independence through skill development. 17th December 2024: Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India’s leading FMCG companies, successfully concluded the first phase of a tailoring training initiative in Thoothukudi. 16th December 2024: The 9th edition of the Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon (VPCHM) concluded today in Jaipur, showcasing an extraordinary display of community spirit and determination. Almost 15,000 runners participated in support of Vedanta’s #RunForZeroHunger movement, raising 1 lakh meals for children and animals.
