Jindal Stainless, through its CSR arm Jindal Stainless Foundation (JSF), has been implementing the programme ‘Elimination of Clubfoot Disability among Children’, since 2021, in partnership with Cure International India Trust (CIIT). The initiative is currently active in Hisar, Haryana, and Cuttack, Odisha, as part of which free treatment is provided for children using the globally accepted Ponseti method. The non-surgical treatment includes corrective casting, minor procedures where required, and provision of Foot Abduction Braces (FAB). As the treatment typically continues over few years, regular medical follow-ups and counselling for parents are conducted to ensure adherence to the treatment protocol and prevent discontinuation midway. Over 470 children are currently benefitting from the intervention across both locations.
In Hisar, treatment services are provided at the Orthopaedics Department of Maharaja Agrasen Civil Hospital, where a dedicated clubfoot clinic operates every Tuesday with government doctors and a CIIT counsellor. Families from over 20 nearby villages – like Barwala, Bhiwani, Sisai, Dhanshu, among others – benefit from the programme, which supports children throughout the full treatment cycle without financial burden.
