Roots Foundation Partners with Coal India Ltd. to Launch CIL’s Harit Samriddhi Project in Jharkhand

7th February 2025: Roots Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to creating sustainable solutions for rural development, has joined hands with Coal India Ltd. (CIL), under the Ministry of Coal, to launch CIL’s Harit Samriddhi project as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility CSR) initiative to enhance farmers’ income and promote inclusive growth in the agrarian economy of Chatra district, Jharkhand. The project is initially being implemented in the Tandwa and Samaria blocks of the district. This initiative aims to provide farmers with essential training and support, improving agricultural practices and enabling better livelihoods. The project will benefit 2,000 farmers who will be trained at two dedicated centers located in Khadiya and Serendagh Hall. Over 1,000 farmers have already undergone training

30th January 2025:  APM Terminals Pipavav, in its ongoing commitment to community welfare, organized an eye check-up camp. The camp witnessed a turnout of 344 individuals, with 80 cataract surgeries conducted at Sudarshan Netralaya, Amreli. This initiative is part of the bi-monthly eye check-up camps launched in 2017, benefiting 350 to 450 villagers per camp from over 70 villages across Amreli, Jafrabad, and surrounding talukas. Since 2017, APM Terminals has organized bimonthly eye checkup camps as part of its continuous healthcare efforts. These camps offer on-site OPD treatment and identify patients requiring advanced care. Those diagnosed with conditions such as cataracts and other eye diseases are referred to Sudarshan Netralaya for free surgery, ensuring critical eye health needs are addressed
