11th August 2025: Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham proudly announces the graduation of the inaugural cohort of its landmark E4Life Ph.D. program, a pioneering, fully funded PhD program in sustainable development. This graduating class comprises 23 exceptional scholars from 9 countries, many hailing from underprivileged backgrounds. Initiated in 2020, the E4Life (Education for Life) Ph.D. Fellowship, offered by the School for Sustainable Futures, is a fully funded doctoral scholarship program, instituted under the visionary guidance of Amita’s Chancellor, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma). 2nd August 2025: Aahwahan Foundation, in association with Aptiv Components India Pvt. Ltd., has launched a state-of-the-art Model Eye Clinic in Minto Ophthalmic Hospital, Bangalore, with the vision of improving public eye care facilities for the underprivileged. The hospital has the most sophisticated diagnostic equipment, automated ophthalmic facilities, and patient care systems, which allow the hospital to treat more than 2 lakh patients per year with improved efficiency and precision. 2nd August 2025: APM Terminals Pipavav inaugurated a state-of-the-art Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Workshop at its Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Rajula, as a part of its ongoing commitment to skill and entrepreneurship development among rural youth. The facility is equipped with a high- precision Vertical Machining Centre (VMC), a computer-operated system widely used across the manufacturing sector for milling, drilling, and tapping operations. The workshop has been designed to provide local youth with hands-on training in precision machining, a highly sought-after skill that enables access to employment opportunities across industrial sectors. 28 July 2025: Omega Forum for Social Impact (OFSI), the CSR arm of Omega Healthcare, in partnership with The Association for Sustainable Community Development (ASSCOD), successfully concluded the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate Distribution Programme, a landmark event celebrating the financial transformation of tribal women from across 15 villages in the Chengalpattu district. The initiative brought together over 200 women participants, including the 30 of them being awarded savings certificates.
