7th October 2024: In response to the growing concern of elder loneliness amidst India’s rapid urbanization, Charista Foundation, in association with SENI India (by TZMO), organized the National Symposium on Elder Psychological Wellbeing (NSEPW) 2024. Held at the Bangalore International Centre on the United Nations’ International Day of Older Persons (UNIDOP), the symposium united experts, thought leaders and change-makers to address the mental health challenges faced by the country’s aging population. The event featured Padmashri Dr. Syed M. H. Kirmani, a World Cup-winning cricketer, who delivered the keynote address, offering personal insights on the importance of elder care and wellbeing. October 5th, 2024: Grew Energy Private Limited partners with Aditya Green Energy Pvt Ltd for the supply of over 180 MW of PV solar modules. The order supports the Government of India’s PM KUSUM C (MSKVY 2.0) Yojana initiative aimed at promoting solar energy adoption in rural areas. 03rd October 2024: APM Terminals Pipavav inaugurated the Jhaverchand Meghani Learning Resource Centre in Thavi, a sub-village of Bherai, as part of its ongoing commitment to education and community development. The centre, named after renowned Gujarati laureate Shri Jhaverchand Meghani, will provide quality education to over 40 children from underprivileged families in the area. The centre was inaugurated by Shri Subir Mehrotra, Head of Engineering, and Shri Jignesh Adhyaru, Head of Projects, senior leadership from APM Terminals as well as village representatives. This new facility is part of APM Terminals Pipavav’s broader commitment to education through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. October 3, 2024: The Flipkart Foundation, the charitable arm of the Flipkart Group, has collaborated with Swades Foundation, a leading grassroots organization in rural development, to launch a transformative initiative aimed at uplifting the rural youth in Raigad district of Maharashtra. The project, named ‘Rural Prosperity: Empowering Rural Youth through Targeted Skill Development for Sustainable Incomes,’ is set to enhance livelihoods by skilling 200 youth with the goal of increasing household incomes by approx. INR 80,000 annually. The program will focus on providing vocational training to youth between the age of 18 and 35, with an extended age limit of up to 10 years for select community-based self-employment courses like masonry and painting. 01st October 2024: Honda India Foundation (HIF) successfully organized the felicitation ceremony for top performers of the Honda ki Pathshala at Honda Samajik Vikas Kendra, a multi-facility skill development center at Naurangpur. Ten students were shortlisted through a series of elimination rounds from 1300+ participants across 26 Honda Ki Pathshala centers in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
