01st October 2024: Honda India Foundation (HIF) successfully organized the felicitation ceremony for top performers of the Honda ki Pathshala at Honda Samajik Vikas Kendra, a multi-facility skill development center at Naurangpur. Ten students were shortlisted through a series of elimination rounds from 1300+ participants across 26 Honda Ki Pathshala centers in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
Honda Ki Pathshala is one of the flagship CSR initiatives by the Honda India Foundation, implemented in collaboration with KHUSHII (Kinship for Humanitarian Social and Holistic Intervention in India), dedicated to providing comprehensive after-school education and support to students from underprivileged communities. In 2003, Kapil Dev founded KHUSHII with like-minded individuals, aimed at empowering underprivileged communities. The NGO focuses on education, health, and community development, working towards improving the quality of life for disadvantaged sections of society. Kapil Dev’s leadership and vision have been instrumental in KHUSHII’s growth and impact, fostering sustainable development and social upliftment across India.
The Honda India Foundation remains committed to its mission of supporting education and holistic development for underprivileged children across India through innovative programs like Honda Ki Pathshala. The program operates across 50 centers in PAN India, benefiting 2,500 students to date, and focuses on improving students’ performance and reducing dropout rates. In addition to academics, the initiative includes outdoor activities, gender sensitization, child rights sessions, and child leadership programs to ensure the all-round development of the students.
Former legendary Indian cricketer Shri. Kapil Dev graced the event as a special guest, inspiring students and attendees with his words of encouragement and support for educational initiatives. He added, “I am proud to say that KHUSHII’s collaboration with the Honda India Foundation through ‘Honda ki Pathshala’ is transforming lives in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Haryana. We have set up community-based centers where more than 1,500 empowered children are given the support they need to thrive. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in their education and future—we are grateful to Honda for coming forward to do it with us.”
The event celebrated the performance and hard work of the students, with the top 3 winning groups receiving special awards.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Vinay Dhingra, Trustee, Honda India Foundation, said, “Honda Ki Pathshala is not just an educational initiative for the underprivileged; it is a platform to nurture young minds, empowering them to dream big and equipping them with essential skills to succeed in today’s world. Our objective is to reduce dropout rates, enhance academic performance, and foster leadership qualities among these students. We were also honored to have Kapil Dev join us today, whose inspiring presence motivated not only the students but everyone involved in the initiative.”
