Traditional Embroidery Promotion

10th February 2026: Ascensive Edu Skill Foundation, in association with Genius Foundation, organized the Convocation Ceremony of the Skill & Entrepreneurship Development and Market Linkage Programme of Hand Embroidery Artisans at Hotel Hindustan International, Kolkata, marking the successful completion of a one-year CSR initiative aimed at strengthening artisan-led economic growth.

Implemented under the CSR initiative of Genius Foundation, CSR Wing of Genius HRTech Limited (formerly known as Genius Consultants Limited), the program focused on enhancing skills, entrepreneurial capabilities, and market access for traditional hand embroidery artisans. A key outcome of the initiative was the creation of sustainable market linkages between artisans from Kashmir and the local markets of West Bengal, while also integrating local artisans and suppliers into the value chain.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. R P Yadav, Chairman & Managing Director, Genius HRTech Ltd., as Chief Guest, and Smt. Shaon Sen, Additional Secretary, Department of Labour, Government of West Bengal, as Guest of Honour, along with senior representatives from Genius HRTech Ltd., Ascensive Group, NSDC, the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. R P Yadav emphasized that impactful CSR must move beyond training to ensure long-term livelihood sustainability through entrepreneurship and market access. Smt. Shaon Sen highlighted the importance of skill development and market linkage in strengthening MSME ecosystems and promoting inclusive economic growth in the state.

Mr. Abhijit Chatterjee, Chairman, Ascensive Group of Companies stressed the need for building holistic livelihood ecosystems where skill development is supported by mentoring, entrepreneurship orientation, and structured market connectivity, ensuring lasting impact for artisans while preserving traditional craftsmanship.

The programme featured a video presentation of The Project as well as activities of Genius Foundation, followed by a virtual certificate distribution ceremony and interaction with beneficiary artisans, who shared experiences of improved skills, increased income opportunities, and renewed confidence.

The initiative stands as a strong example of how collaborative CSR interventions can empower artisans, strengthen MSMEs, and contribute to sustainable grassroots economic development.
