A Skill-Training Programme to support underprivileged youth introduced byFlipkart Foundation and Smile Foundation

19 October, 2023:A livelihood programme to empower underprivileged youth was introduced through a collaboration between the charitable arm of the Flipkart Group, The Flipkart Foundation and an Indian Development organization, the Smile Foundation. This partnership will equip young individuals with industry relevant skills and will specifically focus on Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) soft skills and personality development. Training imparted to 5,000 Youth in rural Maharashtra through the Youth Skilling programme of Swades Foundation.

Swades Foundation the philanthropic endeavour of Ronnie and Zarina Screwvala, recently completed the training of 5,000 youth in rural Maharashtra through its Youth Skilling program. This was conducted in collaboration with the support of CSR partners, Udyogwardini and Learnet Skills. Out of the 5,000 youth who participated in the Youth Skilling Program, 83% were successfully placed in jobs and were either employed or self-employed. The skilling program targets the underserved youth in the age group of 18-35 years. By equipping the youth who attend the program with the relevant skill sets including soft skills, they are groomed for meaningful employment opportunities. DIKSHa by Dalmia Bharat Foundation- Empowering Communities through Skill Development 

In a country with the youngest and largest workforce in the world, India faces the challenge of significant skill gaps, with only 5% of the workforce being recognized as formally skilled. Ingersoll Rand commences the second edition of skill training and placement programme
