Tata leading the way in CSR

Tata Group is known for contributing consistently and vigorously towards CSR activities. The Tata Sustainability Group (TSG) is a part of Tata Sons and serves as the nodal resource on sustainability for the Tata group of companies. 

TSG works with Tata Group companies in developing and helping formulate CSR St strategy, CSR Programme Assessment, and Volunteering Strategy TSG is driven by a mission to guide, support, and provide thought leadership to all Tata Group companies in embedding sustainability in their business strategies and demonstrating responsibility towards society and the environment.

Since its formation in 2014, the Tata Sustainability Group has been partnering with Tata Companies to embed sustainability in their business strategies, thereby demonstrating responsibility to the planet and people.

It has accepted and combined CSR in its routine planned functioning and has been sincerely involved in the development of society. It has set an example for emerging companies through its service in education, health, social, and women’s issues.

Tata Group’s CSR programs aim to be relevant to local, national, and global contexts, keep disadvantaged communities as the focus based on globally agreed sustainable development principles, and be implemented in partnership with governments, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders. Tata companies are involved in various community development and environment preservation projects.

The Tata group’s CSR activities are related to education, livelihoods and skill development, rural development, water and sanitation, healthcare, and strengthening services. Tata Industries Limited’s Core Values are to improve the quality of life of the communities it serves through long-term stakeholder value creation.

Its philosophy of CSR is to make Tata Industries Limited positively impact society & community through CSR activities that develop/improve their economic status and conserve the environment. It aims to ensure sustainability by doing what is right through adopting sustainable business practices, employee policies, and technologies.

The group endeavors to protect the interests of all our stakeholders and contribute to society by making a measurable and positive difference through the four causes Tata Group support: 

  1. Livelihood & Employability 
  2. Health 
  3. Education 
  4. Environment and improve the quality of life of those the group serves through long-term stakeholder value creation.

In a world where every corporation is carrying out community initiatives, we ensure that the Tata group continues to stand out for the quality of its CSR and service to the nation’s development. The TSG understands that climate change will render the most vulnerable even more so and unable to deal with the impacts. In recognition of this fact, the stakeholders at the Tata group are working towards embedding climate resilience aspects into the design of their interventions and building capabilities of communities to deal with extreme weather events and chronic impacts of climate change alike.
