TELANGANA

The Telangana government has taken important steps towards reinforcing the concept of corporate social responsibility in corporations, inspiring them to channel their CSR funds into the most imminent fields, thereby enhancing the quality and quantity of CSR investment.

To build an inclusive ecosystem of government bodies, private sector companies, social impact organizations, and citizens of Telangana, with a shared goal of mobilising resources for the development of people, the community, and the environment. The state’s current CSR policy has a three-pronged approach: Its CSR Portal: The official website vets projects and facilitates interaction, cross-collaboration, fund-raising, and volunteer recruitment for a l l stakeholders. Focus Group Meetings:

These meetings provide a forum for one-on-one closed working group engagements. The meetings are organised around specific themes, enabling relevant stakeholders to have meaningful focus group discussions. Annual Recognition Event: Each year, it hosts a rewards and recognition event to acknowledge Telangana’s most active and impactful CSRs.

NAREDCO Telangana

As a responsible corporate citizen, NAREDCO Telangana has always been at the forefront of corporate social responsibility activities. Its active role in encouraging a green channel, giving suggestions for boosting green buildings and providing incentives to check pollution has been lauded in several quarters. The authorities, too, have taken note of their suggestions.

When the tsunami struck some parts of the State, like the Prakasam district in 2004, it left many people homeless. NAREDCO Telangana took up construction of houses for tsunami victims. Later, in 2009, when there was a devastating flood in the Kurnool and Mahaboobnagar districts, NAREDCO Telangana took up the challenge and built houses for the flood-affected people.

The organisation of the UN-supported CoP-11 in Hyderabad in October 2012 provided NAREDCO Telangana with the right opportunity to show its environmental concern and a healthy lifestyle. NAREDCO Telangana took up the beautification of both the entrance roads of Hitex and HICC, Hyderabad, ahead of the CoP-11 summit.
