Rajinikanth, Sania Mirza, Priyanka Chopra honoured with Padma Awards

CSR NEWS Superstar Rajinikanth, tennis icon Sania Mirza, former US Ambassador Robert D Blackwill and actor Priyanka Chopra were among the 56 eminent persons who were honoured with Padma awards today, on Tuesday, April 12, 2016. Former DRDO chief V K Aatre, chief editor of Telugu daily Eenadu Ramoji Rao, philanthropist and educationist Indu Jain, chairman of Maruti Suzuki India, R C Bhargava, singer Udit Narayan, eminent lawyer Ujjwal Nikam were also honoured with the Padma awards by President Pranab Mukherjee at the Civil Investiture Ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Bharat Ratna 2019 – Pranab Mukherji, Nanaji Deshmukh, Bhupen Hazarika​

CSR NEWS The Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award of the Republic of India, instituted in 1954. The award is conferred “in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order”, without distinction of race, occupation, position, or sex. The recommendations for the Bharat Ratna are made by the Prime Minister to the President, with a maximum of three nominees being awarded per year. Telangana gets 25th safe water station on World Water Day

CSR NEWS Safe Water Network (SWN) and Honeywell India (NYSE: HON) announced the launch of the 25th Honeywell-funded iJal safe water station in Telangana to mark World Water Day. These 25 safe water stations are located in Karimnagar, Adilabad, Warangal, Khammam, and Nalgonda districts, and serve approximately 94,000 people in areas that lack safe drinking water.. The Honeywell-Safe Water Network initiative addresses a critical need in the region that suffers groundwater contamination from high levels of fluoride. Water and sanitation-related illnesses account for 70-80 percent of diseases in this area.
