Futures First Info Services launches its new CSR initiative in collaboration with Roots Foundation

23rd October 2024: In a significant step towards creating sustainable livelihoods, Futures First Info Services Pvt Ltd, as part of their CSR Initiatives, has collaborated with the Roots Foundation, and has inaugurated a skilling training center in Udyog Vihar, Gurugram. The center is set to deliver an ambitious skill development initiative focusing on sewing machine operations (SMO), tailoring, and pattern-making. The program aims to empower youth and women by enhancing their economic opportunities and fostering financial independence within the community.

The launch event was graced by key people from both organizations. Ms. Cheryl Gureja, Director, and Ms. Apurva Sharma, VP- HR & Operations, from Futures First Info Services Pvt Ltd, along with Mr. Ritwik Bahuguna and Ms. Ridhima Bahuguna, Co-Founders of Roots Foundation, were present to mark the occasion. Several trainees who will be part of the skilling program also attended, underscoring the immediate impact the center will have on the local community.

In today’s rapidly changing economic landscape, access to skilled employment has become essential for personal growth and financial stability. While emerging industries continue to develop, traditional skills like tailoring and embroidery remain critical for supporting rural and urban economies. However, many individuals face challenges due to limited access to formal training, inadequate market linkages, and a lack of necessary infrastructure, preventing them from realizing their full potential.

To address these gaps, Futures First Info Services Pvt Ltd and Roots Foundation’s skilling training program will target marginalized youth and women, providing them with hands-on training in sewing operations and pattern-making. The training aims to equip participants with the skills required to secure employment or start their micro-enterprises, thus contributing to their overall financial independence and self-confidence.

Ms Cheryl Gureja, Director, Futures First Info Services Pvt Ltd, while conversing with the participants, shared that it’s a matter of great pride to see women who are excited to learn and help their families increase their income. She also mentioned that the program will increase participants’ employability and income-earning potential. The initiative also aims to instill greater self-confidence and empower beneficiaries, some of whom are expected to establish their micro-enterprises, fostering local economic development.

Given the importance of the textile and garment sectors in India’s economy, this initiative is both timely and highly sustainable. These sectors contribute significantly to the country’s GDP and continue to experience growth, driving employment across various regions. By addressing the skill gap in these critical areas, the program is expected to generate long-term benefits for the community and help ensure economic resilience in Gurugram. This partnership exemplifies how public-private collaborations can effectively drive inclusive growth and provide meaningful opportunities to marginalized communities. Futures First Info Services Pvt Ltd and Roots Foundation are committed to expanding this model and reaching more beneficiaries across India.
