NAGALAND

The CSR activities in Nagaland are getting the required support from the state government and participation from private and public sector companies. A few years ago, Nagaland organised a CSR Conclave to provide a platform for presenting the opportunities for developmental projects in Nagaland, sharing of experiences and for handshaking for future projects for the various stakeholders, i.e. the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the Department of Public Enterprises; the different Chambers of Commerce; the eligible companies (both CPSEs and other than Government companies) having a footprint in the State through their commercial activities or who are interested in expanding their CSR development outreach to the North- East and Nagaland; CSR Foundations and large NGOs involved in assisting the companies in meaningfully spending their CSR expenditure; the State Government and its various departments; the District Administrators; and the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in the State.

The State is expected to attract significant support through CSR since there is a scope and an unrealized potential for a large increase in CSR expenditure. To explore the possibility of increasing companies’ engagement in the State’s development experience through their CSR initiatives, the CSR Conclave gave the required opportunity to all the stakeholders.

Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN)

Iqarus

Iquarus as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, it has supported the Health Education Project in Nagaland in partnership with a local NGO, Naruda. The company’s objective is to bring about a meaningful improvement in the health and wellbeing of communities in this region. It aims to improve health access for individuals residing in 20 remote villages near Tening, particularly during the rainy season when access to medical aid becomes severely limited.

During this time, villagers cannot travel to the nearest medical facility, making them highly vulnerable to diseases and epidemics.

Reducing Maternal and Infant Mortality Rates, Iqarus is committed to reducing maternal and infant mortality rates in the local villages, safeguarding the lives of both mothers and newborns.

Recognising the unique needs of the elderly in these communities, the company has been dedicated to improving their quality of life and ensuring they receive the medication, care, and support they need and deserve.

Other CSR activities include empowering Impoverished Households and addressing critical health disparities.
