Infosys Foundation and Go Sports Foundation focus on aspiring women athletes across India and jointly launch ‘Girls for Gold’ Program.’ The philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys – Infosys Foundation, recently partnered with Go Sports Foundation to build a high performing excellence program for emerging and junior women athletes. This “Girls for Gold “program with an initial term of 4 years will zero down on talented women athletes in the age group of 13 – 19 years and through partnerships with coaches and reputed academies in India. The inclusions of this program were performance recognition, scholarships, access to academics and coaching. Five sporting disciplines – table tennis, badminton, shooting, boxing, weightlifting featured in the first range of disciplines and the supported academies were – Yadav Pro Badminton Academy, Sathish Sivalingam Weightlifting Foundation, Raman TT High Performance Centre and Lakshya Shooting Club. Deepthi Bopaiah, CEO – GoSports Foundation., appreciated the commitment of the Infosys Foundation for creating great avenues for the women and pave their way for a great athletic career. Sumit Virmani, Trustee, Infosys Foundation, mentioned how women empowerement was a key priority of their company.
