Prerna Khantwal of PRERNA EDUCATION AND CHARITABLE TRUST has been facilitated with RASHTRIYA PRATIBHA AWARD 2018 for the betterment of the society

New Delhi, 7 October 2018: Ms. Prerna Khantwal has been at the helm of “PRERNA EDUCATION AND CHARITABLE TRUST” as the founding director since more than a decade, guiding and steering efforts in the right direction. She has always been a staunch believer in the importance of quality education in one’s life and the immense works and projects undertaken by her reflect the same. With the vision of a well developed nation and the belief that one person can make a change, she started a journey which has touched and benefitted innumerable lives till date. Apart from working on providing quality education for all, PRERNA EDUCATION AND CHARITABLE TRUST has diversified and is now working over many problems that are in dire need of attention such as – skilling & self employment, establishment of schools, women empowerment & personal hygiene camps, abolishing child labor, spreading awareness about chronic diseases like hemophilia , youth counseling, and many more such objectives. The mission apart from reaching out to those in need; has also been to capture the essence of social responsibility and helping others in the urban youth of today. As of today, Prerna Khantwal stands tall as a shining example of how one person can bring a wave of change and do their part for the greater good. Never has she cut any corners for the work done by her despite being the sole financial contributor since the beginning for all the projects.

PRERNA EDUCATION AND CHARITABLE TRUST & Prerna Khantwal have been recognized by various national as well as international bodies for their astonishing efforts put toward the betterment of the society. Recently she has been facilitated with RASHTRIYA PRATIBHA AWARD 2018 for the same. While doing their bit for the society, PRERNA EDUCATION AND CHAARITABLE TRUST also manage “PEBBLES PRE-PRIMARY ” & ”OUR OWN HIGH SCHOOL ” , both of which are award winning educational institutes.

Social work by PECT

PECT has successfully run it’s mission with a single minded devotion towards steady and stable growth resulting in full support and appreciation from the villagers and officials alike.  Trust has ensured providence of basic amenities throughout the villages which were absent before.

Trust also conducting various programs in the villages naming a few:-

Educational Program:- We offer free of cost coaching as well as guidance to children and youth of the village. We also take weekly classes through the government schools present in the village, explaining the importance of education to the villagers. We also provided English learning as well as vocational workshops & classes along with special coaching for 10th to 12th standard students.

Health Program:- Medical care, is one thing that needed urgent attention from the time PECT adopted the villages. Healthcare and sanitation were neglected, for which we conducted healthcare camps Special camps were also conducted for the women and the girls with the help of a Gynecologist explaining to them the importance of personal hygiene & sanitation along with distribution of sanitary napkins & other necessities.

Women Empowerment Program:- PECT team is working very hard towards empowering women. The first step is to enable them to be independent and self sufficient by teaching them various skills such as sewing, embroidery, beauty classes knitting, and many more. Legal counseling to help women reunite their families and guiding them about their rights, and to not become victims of crimes such as dowry deaths, rape, save girl child, molestation etc. Is also regularly conducted as a part of the woman empowerment program.

Beti Bachao, Beti Pdhao:- PECT is conducting many workshops for Parents and Grandparents in the villages to increase awareness regarding education the girl child and explaining to them the importance of a woman in a society. Also explained were the harms and ill-effects of child marriage and how a girl child is not a burden, but a blessing.
