18 November, 2023: A pioneering product the Seedcopter 2.0 – India’s first reforestation drone. has been introduced by Marut Drones a company in the Drone manufacturing segment. This service is available to corporate entities and their CSR teams. Deforestation ranks high as a global concern with the loss of 1.3 million sq km of forest cover between the years 1990 to 2016. An alarming number of 15 billion trees annually as per statistics have been noted to have disappeared.

With a view to addressing this crisis Marut Drones has been harnessing the power of Seedcopter 2.0 since 2021. This also affirms how technology, when coupled with community engagement, can drive positive change, and reduce the dire consequences of deforestation. The ongoing mission of Marut Drones “Hara Bhara Campaign” has successfully utilized the Seedcopter to plant One Billion Trees by 2030. The success of Seedcopter is seen in the plantation of more than one crore trees across 9 states like Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu and Assam in 2022. The mission of Marut is to restore 900 forests through ‘Hara-Bahara’ campaign which is already well underway.

Actor and environmental advocate Rana Daggubati, has joined Marut Drones on this mission in 2021, with the objective of increasing the forest cover in India through afforestation making use of the Seedcopter.

CEO of Marut Drones, Prem Kumar Vislawath while speaking at the launch, expressed his enthusiasm at making Seedcopter 2.0 available for corporate use with a CSR perspective. He was hopeful of extending the reach of drone technology to invite more stakeholders in contributing to India’s Green cover.

Popularly known as the Forest Man of India, Padmashree Jadav Payeng from Assam, and Padmashree Daripalli Ramaiah, from Telangana who are notable environmentalists too are the key ambassadors for ‘Hara Bahara’ campaign.
