Allstate India’s ongoing CSR initiatives include the recent inauguration of the next phase of its’ Rainwater Harvesting project in Bengaluru

20 November, 2023: Allstate India, a subsidiary of the Fortune 100 US insurance company – The Allstate Corporation, has announced significant milestones in its CSR initiatives. The expansion of the Rainwater Harvesting Project in Bengaluru recently, in collaboration with the NASSCOM GCC Consortium marked a significant step in the company’s commitment towards creating sustainable development and a social impact.

Last year this was successfully installed in 21 government schools, and through this project thousands of litres of water are continuing to be saved. The Rainwater Harvesting Project has been implemented through the support of The Forward Foundation, with the joint objective of addressing the common natural source for all human beings – water. A sense of environmental sustainability was inculcated in the school children while they learned about sustainable practices and gained access to clean water.

Managing Director, Allstate India Chetan Garga, enumerated how water conservation was vital in the fight against climate change. He mentioned how the Rainwater Project Harvesting implemented in Pune and Bengaluru had educated the next generation about environmental stewardship. This initiative he said was instrumental in sowing the seeds of awareness and responsibility in the future leaders. A sustainable and water secure future for all could be created together, he added.

The expansion plans of Allstate India’s CSR initiatives will cover larger communities across Karnataka and Maharashtra, thereby making a positive impact on society, fostering sustainability and empowering communities.

Project Nirmiti, a comprehensive tailoring program for women empowerment by Allstate India, is being conducted since the past 6 months. Valuable skills and tools for income generation have been provided by this initiative of Allstate India, empowering 140 underprivileged women of Pune.

The upcoming weeks will see the valedictory ceremony, where certificates will be awarded to the participants and sewing machines will be donated to assist and set them on the path of independent income generation.
