3rd July 2024: Growel’s 101, a prominent Mumbai-based mall, has initiated a significant environmental project to clean a nearby waterway. The mall has successfully removed approximately 3 tons of garbage till now from the stream which passes by its periphery, which has been causing issues such as water pollution, Reduced soil quality, spread of diseases and unhygienic environment. Recognizing the global impact of these efforts, Growel’s101 is committed to addressing pollution at its source to ensure a healthier future for everyone.

The waterway around the vicinity was heavily polluted with plastic and other non-biodegradable waste. This waste often flows into larger bodies of water, eventually reaching the oceans and seas, contributing to severe pollution. Such pollution adversely affects marine life, human health, and the overall environmental balance.

By initiating this clean-up drive, Growel’s 101 aims to mitigate the detrimental effects of water pollution. The clean-up activities involve removing non-biodegradable waste and sending it for recycling, thereby reducing the environmental footprint and promoting sustainability. The recycling of these materials ensures that they are repurposed, which further benefits the natural ecosystem.

The employees of Growel’s 101 Mall play an active role in this initiative, showcasing their dedication to the cause. They participate in the clean-up drive, collaborating with experts to ensure that the clean-up was thorough and effective. This collective effort highlights the mall’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship.

Mr. Santosh Gupta, Operations Head Growel’s 101 Mall, Said that, “At Growel’s 101, we are committed to being responsible corporate citizens and preserving the environment around us. Recently, we initiated a continuous drive to clean up the stream adjoining our premises, removing non-biodegradable waste that distorts the natural flow. Our vision is for a better tomorrow and a healthier future, not just for us, but for everyone living on this earth. We will continue to undertake such initiatives to ensure a sustainable and clean environment for future generations”

This initiative by Growel’s 101 is a testament to the power of small, local actions in making a significant global impact. By cleaning up local canals and sewage systems, the mall is helping to ensure cleaner water bodies and a healthier environment. The efforts to recycle non- biodegradable waste also underscore the importance of sustainable practices in everyday operations.
