The Vedanta Foundation has distributed 3,000 free laptops to the students of Vedanta PG Girls College, Sikar, Rajasthan. The initiative has been taken to fuel the ambition of less privileged students. Started in the year 1992, Vedanta Foundation has been contributing in the upliftment of the weaker sections of the society. One of its major initiatives is the Vedanta Post Graduate Girls College, Ringus (Rajasthan), which holds special significance and is close to the heart of Vedanta Resources Ltd Chairman Anil Agarwal. The Foundation has distributed free laptops to all the 3,000 students including the new entrants on July 30, 2019. Kiran Agarwal (chaiman of Hindustan Zinc ) Summary Didwania (Trustee of Vedanta foundation) and Dr BL Sharma (Vice chancellor to Shelhawati University) attended the ceremony. The girl students of the college are mostly the first generation learners and their family is either into farming or the family members work as labourers. These girls have proved their mettle in the state level sports competitions too and are academically excelling too.
