Development of Social Sciences in the world was plagued by three factors: (i) the unresolved dichotomy in western and eastern thinking about human nature, culture and society emerging from varying world-views; (ii) the assumed supremacy of western social sciences over the eastern texts; and (iii) the assumed supremacy of physical science knowledge when compared to the social sciences. ACC goes Green – introduces industry-first Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for all blended Cement Products

PRESS RELEASE ACC Limited, has become the first Indian cement company to publish an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for all of its blended cement products manufactured across all of its 17 cement plants. Beginning June 07, 2018, leading ACC cement brands namely ACC Suraksha Power, ACC Concrete+ Xtra Strong, ACC Gold Water Shield, ACC HPC Long Life and ACC F2R Superfast will feature the EPD declaration. Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent and comparable information about the life-cycle environmental impact of products. INITIATIVE To save environment from the abuse of drugs, the government has decided to ban production of such formulations which was being used to enhance dairy and vegetable productions. Almost a month after banning import of Oxytocin formulations, the Government has prohibited the private sector from producing the drug, a move aimed to curb its misuse by dairy owners and farmers who use it to boost milk production and increase size of vegetables like watermelons and pumpkins. The order issued by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) under the Union Health Ministry will be effective from July 1. New global alliance commits over $1.0 billion USD to help end plastic waste in the environment; sets goal of investing $1.5 billion USD
