“McDonald’s for Youth” initiative by McDonald’s India – North and East seeks NGO partnerships in Rajasthan for hiring

29th November, 2023: North and East India, the focus of “McDonald’s for Youth’’ community program by McDonald’s India- North and East, aims to benefit 1,500 less privileged people with employment opportunities, by 2025.

Nearly 6,000 people are employed by McDonald’s across its restaurants in North and East India. The company also makes a significant investment in training and development initiatives every year. The flagship community program “Mc Donald’s for Youth” is a step towards empowering local communities and promoting social change. This program by McDonald’s India-North & East has been launched with the objective of uplifting the less privileged youth of Jaipur. With this in mind, McDonalds India – North &East is inviting NGOs from all across Rajasthan to cooperate with them and help them reach out to potential beneficiaries from the local communities.

Managing Director, McDonald’s India – North and EastRajeev Ranjan, while commenting on this initiative said that this program was aimed at creating opportunities for the local communities of the youth of India, by removing the barriers to employment. Their mission was to open the doors of employment. This could be achieved by partnering with NGOs and skill development organizations, particularly with those who work at the grassroot level with less privileged communities. He went on to add that they had till now added more than 600 employees across their restaurants and were now inviting local NGO partnerships in Rajasthan, across Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Ajmer to fast track the hiring under the “McDonald’s for Youth” program. The focus on the North &East India was their commitment towards providing equal opportunities to less privileged communities and bringing out their full potential by providing them access to this platform.

McDonald’s is providing employment and skilling opportunities to the lesser privileged though this endeavour. The economic development of the region is also being addressed by creating jobs and providing world class training opportunities.

NGOs such as Magic Bus Foundation, Quess Corp Ltd and so on, have collaborated with McDonald’s India – North and East on a National level for the hiring process. In Rajasthan there are currently 11 restaurants of the company where it is considering hiring employees through NGOs.
