Dr Ashutosh Karnatak

Dr Ashutosh Karnatak takes over the position of Chairman of GAIL Gas Limited. He is also serving as the Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL Limited.

He carries an experience of 37 years in the hydrocarbon sector and has also served as Director of GAIL Gas Board from July 2010 to May 2017. Ashutosh has an experience of implementing City Gas Distribution Projects in six cities along with JHBDPL (Jagadishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra Natural Gas Pipeline). He has contributed in setting up of the first L-CNG station at Bhubaneswar and has conceptualised and developed India’s first CNG System in Mumbai.

He has authored several books on topics like project management, oil and gas and self-development. Ashutosh has started a movement called PI-CI-PI (Positive India-Competitive India -Projectised India). He has also developed an innovative project monitoring and controlling technique and a capability building model named ‘BeDoPe.’
