Lodha conducts bio diversity surveys in its developments in consonance with International Day for Biological Diversity

22 may,2023: With a focus on building a better life and striving towards the larger interest of the community and planet, one of the leading names in real estate development – Lodha, has taken on the mantle of enhancing and preserving bio diversity in its locations.

With an accent on preserving and not just creating, Lodha had introduced path breaking initiatives to enhance the green tapestry and nurture an ecosystem for diverse flora and fauna.

Going beyond ecological benefits, biodiversity enhances the quality of life of its residents and contributes to their overall well-being. Lodha through this initiative, seeks to boost the wellness of pedestrians and those residing in the neighboring areas of their developments. This they feel, will also create the opportunity for younger generations to comprehend and value the richness of biodiversity in their immediate surroundings.

The biodiversity survey conducted by Lodha in a couple of their developments showcased the impact of their efforts in safeguarding the natural environment. Under the ambit of this preservation they support habitats for a wide range of species. Indigenous and culturally significant trees to endangered, rare and threatened species of flora and fauna are all safeguarded. Native trees namely, Ashok, Sita, to the rare and Rusty Acasia and Bael, and Shikra. The fauna includes, Asian Wollyneck, Western Marsh Harrier and Alexandrine Parakeet just to name a few.

 

The highlights of the survey enumerated :

  • 50,430+ trees across the Lodha developments in the last 5 years,
  • 538+ species of flora,
  • 178+ species of fauna,
  • 20+ rare, endangered and threatened species
