Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd (DCBL), is enabling marginalized communities through digital and financial literacy initiatives in Meghalaya. These projects entail a variety of training programmes tailored for men, women and youth to enhance their digital skills and improve their income prospects. In fiscal 2023, 30 rural schools in Meghalaya were identified and supported for installing solar power facilities. Solar power is helping schools run their computer classes without disruption. The schools are able to operate essential electrical equipment such as lights, fans, computers, projectors and charging stations for devices without interruption. This has helped improve the quality of education and learning outcomes for student s with multimedia and digital resources and technology-led innovative teaching methods.

The initiative thus empowers students, teachers, and communities by providing them access to clean and sustainable energy sources and yielding economic benefits for the schools.
