Mobile Medical Unit project aimed at improving the health of low-income groups inaugurated in Thane by Panasonic Life Solutions India.

25th August, 2023: Panasonic Life Solutions India Pvt Ltd –an electrical construction material company present all across India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Panasonic Holding Corporation, Japan. Panasonic Life Solutions India, one of the largest ECM (electrical construction materials) manufacturing company in the country has collaborated with Gurukrupa foundation to launch a mobile medical unit. The aim of this project is to bring about an improvement in the health conditions of the residents of Thane. Ongoing efforts are underway to provide primary health care through a mobile medical unit under the Arogyadoot project.

Residents of low-income groups in Majiwada, Chirag Nagar, Nalpada, Kokanipada, and Dharmveer Nagar will have access to the facilities of the medical facilities in the van. Blood and sugar tests will be performed, OPT ailments will be treated, and generic drug support for cough and cold, fever, viral infection, skin problems will be free of charge.

The low-income groups will be supported in their health care system by the Gurukripa Foundation and Panasonic Life Solutions. There will be a considerable enhancement in the impact of providing health care systems to those coming from low-income groups

Those present at the inauguration included Yoshiyuki Kato, Managing Director at Panasonic Life Solutions India, Smitali Umraskar – Dy Medical officer Health at Thane Municipal corporation, and Dr. Rajesh Barot Dean of Rajiv Gandhi Medical College and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital, Kalwa.

 

Yoshiyuki Kato, Managing Director at Panasonic Life Solutions India, commenting on this initiative said that while running Arogyadoot, the healthcare project and offering healthcare services they had officially inaugurated their first health mobile van. Their partnership with Gurukrupa Foundation had also strengthened this effort. An average of 70 patients per day could be served by the van, and this would in turn benefit members of the society, he added.

Dr. Kiran Pandit of the Gurukrupa Foundation, expressed his gratitude at this partnership and said that they would be in a position to extend their reach to communities and provide access to those in need of primary healthcare services.
