Successful Round Table Conference on ‘SELF & Sustainable Development’

18 June 2024: A significant round table conference on ‘SELF & Sustainable Development’ was successfully conducted on June 8, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the TERI School of Advanced Studies, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The event was jointly organized by the Delhi Management Association (DMA) ESG Committee, TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS), and Vishwa Yuvak Kendra (VYK), with CS Deepak Jain, Chairman of the DMA ESG Committee, presiding as the chair.

About the Conference:
The conference addressed the urgent need for integrating self-awareness with sustainable development practices. In today’s fast-paced world, where economic pressures and daily struggles often sideline environmental concerns, the discussion centered on effectively engaging various sections of society in sustainability issues. The aim was to highlight the importance of personal transformation as a key to driving societal and environmental change.

Quality discussions were held among industry leaders, academicians, and sustainability practitioners, focusing on strategies to increase awareness and commitment to sustainability across different societal strata. The panelists shared insights into overcoming the challenges posed by economic interests and daily life pressures that typically lead to sustainability taking a backseat.

Key outcomes:
The conference emphasized the need for innovative approaches to educate and engage the public, making sustainability a personal and priority issue for all. Participants noted the generally low levels of awareness about sustainability and discussed methodologies to enhance understanding and involvement in sustainable practices.

The conference was met with enthusiastic appreciation from all attendees. A special commendation was given to CS Deepak Jain for his leadership and to the Vijayash Foundation, which served as the knowledge partner, for their significant contributions to the success of the event.

The insights and strategies developed during this conference are expected to inspire continued efforts toward integrating self-awareness with sustainable development practices across various sectors and communities.
