Two Government Schools in Gurugram and Faridabad revitalized by FUJIFILM India’s CSR initiative

                                     

 

25 July, 2023:FUJIFILM India Pvt. Ltd, established in 2008, present in the Healthcare, Materials, and Imaging sectors has announced the successful impact of its latest CSR educational infrastructure transformational initiative. As part of this activity, the company has renovated two schools. FUJIFILM India has refurbished and remodeled the Government Primary School which is located in the heart of Sushant Lok, Gurugram, Haryana into the FUJIFILM India Model School to accomplish this. This is transformed into a modern and inspiring place for the students to thrive. The Government Middle School of the village Jairu in Faridabad has also been revamped.  Thus had been reimagined as the FUJIFILM India Model Village, and has given access to enhanced educational resources to the students. 

 The primary focus was on enhancing the capacity and amenities of the primary schools in Sushant Lok A-1 Gurugram and the Government Middle School in Jajru Faridabad. The basic infrastructure was developed. Issues like cleanliness, beautification of the schools with wall art, swings, and creating, and maintaining the play areas that are used for recreational activities within the schools, hygiene and ensuring clean drinking water were addressed.

The company is actively engaged in providing training programs on prevention of sexual harassment for the children of these schools. This is carried out through the “Aao Baat Karein” workshops on awareness. The myths and misconceptions are addressed in these workshops. Through these workshops the right information on sexual abuse, hygiene, sexual health, reproductive organs, early adolescent issues and menstruation is provided. Apart from these the right information on gender sensitivity is also provided. The aim of these workshops is to empower children to protect themselves by raising their voices and fighting against sexual abuse.

FUJIFILM India has plans of organizing healthcare camps at Jajru for the benefit of not only the students but also the people living there. Six screening and awareness camps will be held for 2400 people residing there. Multiple health camps, titled Mahila Swasthya Shivir, Swasthya Mela, Bal Swasthaya Mela, Naitra Jaanch Shivir, Mahavari Swachta Abhiyaan Shivir and Dant Suraksha Shivir will be held. FUJIFILM India will ensure a holistic wellbeing of the villagers by focusing on general healthcare, oral care, eye care and women focused healthcare services.

 

Managing Director, FUJIFILM India Mr. Koji Wada, said that it was indeed an honor for him to witness the transformation of these schools and the good impact it would have for the students. He emphasized the importance of education as a cornerstone of progress, and this investment for the young minds, would sow the seeds of prosperity he added. The renovation of the schools he was convinced would add a strong foundation on which education could flourish. These young minds would become the innovators and leaders of tomorrow. The infrastructure development would also be coupled with organizing POSH sessions for the students.

 

 

Vertical Head, Corporate Communications and CSR Mr. Abhi Shekhar Singh, mentioned that the Sustainable Value Plan 2023 was at the core of their planning whenever they strategize a CSR Activity. Deep research was done on these activities so that they could reach the regions which needed maximum attention. By spending most of their budgets on Infrastructure development of both the schools, they were sure that this would have a long-term impact in bringing children back to schools by making the infrastructure hygienic and attractive he added.
