World Vision India takes ‘Apni Suraksha Apne Hath’ Campaign to 5 Districts of Jharkhand
Ranchi, 25 March 2021– Jharkhand State’s Department of School Education in collaboration with World Vision India, UNICEF and Child Fund India roll out the ‘Apni Suraksha Apne Hath’ campaign’ in the districts of Giridih, West Singhbhum, Ranchi, Bokaro and Dhanbad of Jharkhand. ‘Apni Suraksha Apne Hath’ campaign was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren.
The ‘Jagrukhta Rath’ awareness vans showcases messages on sanitation, hygiene and key guidelines on the prevention of COVID-19. The campaign would drive home the messages to children from 14251 schools in 24 districts across the state of Jharkhand. School closures since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic have presented an unprecedented challenge to children’s education and wellbeing. As an organization working for Child well-being, World Vision India prioritizes children’s learning while making sure that schools are safe and have access to hand hygiene, clean drinking water and safe sanitation.
“We are happy to implement this campaign in 5 districts of Jharkhand. Through this campaign we aim to provide children a safe and effective learning environment”, said Divya Shafeela, Associate Director, World Vision India. She further added, “As schools begin to reopen, we are keen to implement WASH related infection prevention and control measures in schools. These steps will help to contain the spread of COVID-19 and while also protecting them from other diseases”.
World Vision India will cover 2042 schools in the 5 districts from 22-25th of March, 2021 and impart awareness messages on hand hygiene and COVID 19 to the children.
