Global seedball campaign by Amma seeks to reduce global warming and mitigate climate change

31 May, 2023 :Faridabad recently witnessed the launch of The Global seedball campaign. AYUDH (International youth wing of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Amrita Hospital, and Amrita University jointly launched This campaign as one of their numerous C20 initiatives directed towards the welfare of the world.

 Shri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), Chairperson, Civil 20 India 2023 launched this global campaign under her guidance in April this year. The target is to manufacture 1 million seedballs in 2023. This campaign is being implemented all over the world by the C-20, AYUDH and the SRC Working Group.  Under G20 the official engagement groups have been formed and C20 is one of them. This provides a platform for the CSO.s or Civil Society Organisations globally, to voice the aspirations of the common man to the G20 nations.

The seedball launch event in Faridabad was graced by Sh. Rajesh Nagar (MLA, Tigaon) and Sh. Satyananda Mishra (Retd. IAS officer and former Chief commissioner of India.) Br Mokshamrita Chaitanya (National Coordinator for AYUDH India, Dr Sanjiv Singh (Medical Director, Amrita Hospital), Swami Nijamritananda Puri (Administrative Director, Amrita Hospital), , Youth wing of Mata Amritanandamayi Math), Br Harshamrita (Coordinator Amrita Hospital), Sh. Sandeep Giridhar (owner Modern DPS School), and faculty from St. Columbus school were the other dignitaries present.

This event saw a huge participation, including making the seedballs, which started with the mixing of manure and soil till it finally shaped into seedballs. A large variety of local varieties of seeds was used. People from the vicinity of Faridabad including other CS0s and NGOs were present. Employees of Amrita Hospital including nurses, doctors, faculty and students of Amrita University and other students from nearby universities too participated actively.

Sh. Nagar, Br. Mokshamrita, Swami Nijamritananda Puri, in their respective addresses drew the attention towards the growing environmental challenges and how the seedballs initiative was directed at addressing this issue. Dr. Maneesha Sudheer, Provost, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and Head of the C20 working group on Sustainable and Resilient Communities addressed those present, virtually.
