7th March 2024: A large-scale awareness program is hosted by the Akums ESG team for the National Security Campaign, which was announced from March 4th to March 10th at the Pure and Cure Plant. Every employee of the organization participated enthusiastically in this program, learning methods to prevent unforeseen accidents, while various officers of the organization also contributed their suggestions under safety and prevention from unplanned accidents.
During the program, the essential information was taught so that the impact of natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and landslides, as well as unforeseen accidents including fires, and chemical, and biological incidents, can be easily prevented. The ESG team of AKUMS not only promoted National Safety Week through banners, posters, and pamphlets but also increased awareness among employees from different categories. Additionally, it facilitated the exchange of information and safety materials at all levels.
During his address at the program, Mr. Sandeep Jain, Co-Founder and Joint Managing Director of AKUMS, said,” Only a well-aware employee can effectively fulfill their social responsibilities. Accidents are inherently unpredictable, and without adequate training or knowledge, their adverse effects cannot be mitigated. I extend my gratitude to the ESG team for their continued efforts. Much like last year, they have not only effectively coordinated the National Safety and Awareness Program but have also emphasized the importance of accident prevention and minimizing their repercussions through training workshops. Such awareness initiatives not only keep us informed regularly but also instill vigilance in our lives.”
Due to its long duration, the program was divided into two phases. During the initial phase, Commanding Officer Mr. Praveen Ojha was accompanied by rescue materials from the Dehradun Army Cantonment area, and Chief Trainer of Disaster Management Mr. Manoj Kandiyal, who conducted a joint training session. They explained on the response procedures of NDRF and SDRF (National and State Disaster Response Forces) in managing disasters. SDRF Inspector Mr. Kavindra Sajwan emphasized crucial aspects of disaster management and underscored how vigilance against minor errors can prevent major accidents. Caution, therefore, serves as the primary preventive measure.
The inaugural phase was overseen by District Disaster Management Authority Officer Ms. Meera Rawat, who stressed the importance of raising awareness.
During the program’s second and concluding phase, Chief Fire Officer Mr. Abhinav Tyagi and Fire Officer Mr. Anil Tyagi provided extensive insights into fire-related accidents and offered prompt measures to mitigate potential losses. The second phase of the program was chaired by ARTO Ms. Rashmi Pant and Mr. Pankaj Srivastava. The road safety recommendations provided by CO Traffic, Haridwar, Ms. Natasha, to prevent unforeseen accidents were highly valued. The program concluded with the aspiration that all AKUMS employees would not only raise awareness amongst each other but also collaborate in the workplace, staying mindful of others. A thriving society can only arise when all individuals uphold mutual respect and conscientiously fulfill their social responsibilities.
