SBICAPS & Concern India Foundations join hands to give 4 ambulances to health centers at Nashik & Chh.Sambhajinagar

1st May 2024: SBI Capital Markets Limited (SBICAPS) and Concern India Foundation have joined hands to address the critical need for enhanced healthcare accessibility in Maharashtra’s Nashik and Chh. Sambhajinagar regions. As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, four ambulances have been deployed to key health centers, aiming to bridge the gap in emergency medical services and save lives.

The ambulances, including one Type C (Advanced Life Support Ambulance) and three Type B (TRAX) ambulances, have been strategically allocated to health centers in Nashik and Chh. Sambhajinagar. Equipped with essential emergency tools such as ventilators, multiparameter monitors, suction machines, and automatic defibrillators, these ambulances are geared towards providing immediate medical care, particularly in critical situations. The Type C ambulance, stationed at Chh. Sambhajinagar, Gangapur Taluka, THO Office, is equipped to handle advanced life support scenarios, ensuring patients receive crucial medical interventions during transit.

The handover ceremony, held at the Zilla Parishad office in Nashik, was attended by key stakeholders, including Shri Virendra Bansal, MD & CEO, SBICAPS, Shri Shesh Ram Verma, President & COO, SBICAPS, and representatives from Nashik and Chatrapati Sambhajinagar Health Departments. This collaboration underscores SBICAPS’ commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Maharashtra, building on their four-year partnership with the Concern India Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Virendra Bansal emphasized the importance of bolstering healthcare services at the grassroots level, highlighting the role of these ambulances in facilitating timely patient transfers and ultimately saving lives. The initiative reflects SBICAPS’ ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare accessibility across Maharashtra, with a particular focus on underserved regions.

Kavita Shah, CEO of Concern India Foundation, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to empowering communities for a healthier future. By providing advanced ambulance services in Nashik, the Concern India Foundation aims to ensure that no individual is left behind during medical emergencies, aligning with their mission of enhancing healthcare accessibility.

The initiative addresses the challenges faced by the Indian public healthcare system, particularly in rural areas, where access to emergency medical services is limited. With inadequate facilities at sub-health centers, patients often resort to seeking care at primary health centers or district hospitals, overwhelming the already strained healthcare infrastructure. This initiative aims to alleviate this burden by ensuring immediate medical attention for patients in emergencies, thereby improving healthcare outcomes and reducing mortality rates.

The deployment of these ambulances marks a significant step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility in Maharashtra. By strengthening emergency medical services at the grassroots level, SBICAPS and the Concern India Foundation are making tangible contributions towards improving the health and well-being of communities in Nashik and Chh. Sambhajinagar, ultimately saving lives and fostering a healthier tomorrow.
