Kalsi Initiatives Champions Youth Education on the POCSO Act: Empowering the Next Generation

2nd July 2024: Kalsi Initiatives is pleased to announce its ongoing commitment to enabling Young Minds Initiative to educate and empower young by expanding its sessions beyond Agra into nearby districts, in light of the workshop’s overwhelming success last year in Agra.

In June 2024, the Empowering Young Minds Initiative—a grassroots group committed to supporting children’s rights and raising public awareness of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act—hosted a session that had an incredible impact. The main goal of the session was to inform participants—mostly students from Agra’s public schools—about the POCSO Act’s important clauses and the steps involved in reporting cases of sexual assaults against minors.

Over 250 students who attended the workshop, which was led by a group of committed attorneys who were specifically brought on board for the project, benefited greatly from the in-depth examination and thorough explanations of the POCSO Act that were delivered.

The Empowering Young Minds Initiative is now extending its reach to nearby regions, building on the success of the workshop in Agra. The program wants to keep raising awareness, fighting for children’s rights, and helping to build a better future for young people in villages outside of Agra.

Fighting child sexual abuse requires education and awareness, and our mission is to make sure that youth have access to the tools and information they need to be safe and protected. We are excited to extend our reach into nearby districts and beyond Agra,” said Vanshika Kalsi, co-founder of Kalsi Initiatives.

Kalsi Initiatives’ Empowering Young Minds Initiative is unwavering in its commitment to upholding children’s rights, empowering youth, and fostering safer communities. The program intends to have a major and long-lasting influence on the lives of even more young people by taking its sessions to other areas of the nation.
