Hitachi Energy: Partnering for a Resilient and Sustainable Energy System

7 August 2024: The year 2024 marks 75 years of our company’s presence in India, and we are honored to have been part of various nation-building energy projects. Since our inception, we have also actively contributed to society’s sustainable development through corporate social responsibility aligned with U.N. goals—focusing on people, planet, peace, and partnerships. Our initiatives span diverse areas such as diversity and inclusion, education, health, the environment, and collaboration with academia.

At Hitachi Energy, we aim to impact lives and create a lasting societal effect. To make a better world today and tomorrow, the company continues to partner with multiple stakeholders to support social and environmental causes. Hitachi Energy India is at the forefront, be it empowering female students, creating urban forests, or helping to build the talent ecosystem to address the energy transition.

As part of its ongoing endeavor to serve the community, the company has installed a solar power system and provided energy-efficient fixtures and fittings at the government Markazi High School, Warangal. The project will address the school’s energy needs through solar, benefiting close to 1,200 students and staff members. On August 2nd, 2024, N. Venu, MD & CEO, India and South Asia, Hitachi Energy, officially handed over the project to the school authorities.  The event was also graced by the Chief Guest, Ms. Pravinya IAS, Collector & Magistrate, Hanmkonda, Dr. Md. Abdul Hai, District Education Officer, and Prof. Subramanyam (NITW).

Continuing its clean energy CSR initiatives, on August 2nd, 2024, the company handed over two e-carts to NIT Warangal. The same will be used by students and faculty members of NIT, W, for their daily commutes on campus.
