Delhivery Expands Commitment to Women in Logistics with Fifth All-Women Hub in Shahdara, Delhi

2nd December 2024: Delhivery, India’s largest logistics and supply chain services provider, announces a significant milestone in its ongoing mission to transform the logistics industry through diversity and inclusion with the launch of its fifth all-women hub in Shahdara, Delhi, marking another important milestone in the company’s diversity and inclusion initiative.

The new 1,600-square-foot facility represents Delhivery’s strategic approach to increasing women’s participation in the logistics sector. Employing 25 women, the hub demonstrates the company’s commitment to creating inclusive workplace environments and processing over 10,000 parcels daily.

Suraj Saharan, Chief People Officer and Co-founder at Delhivery said, “The launch of our Shahdara hub represents a significant milestone in transforming the logistics industry. We are committed to creating environments where women professionals can excel. Our experience shows that when provided with the right opportunities, our women colleagues drive remarkable outcomes and help in enhancing operational efficiency. This hub exemplifies our dedication to skill development, workplace safety, and progressive policies that empower women’s professional growth”

Delhivery’s all-women hubs, now spanning locations including Moga, Sikar, Satna, Mayapuri, and Shahdara, have already demonstrated remarkable outcomes. Women workers have shown 20% lower attrition rates, higher productivity attributed to traits of integrity, discipline, and empathy, and an 8% higher rate of 100% attendance compared to male workers.

With women representing only 15% of logistics employees nationwide, Delhivery’s strategic four-pillar approach—encompassing women-friendly infrastructure, inclusive hiring practices, psychologically safe workplace culture, and robust career advancement opportunities—is crucial to transforming industry dynamics. By leading through example, the company demonstrates that diversity is not merely a social imperative but a strategic business advantage, with the Shahdara hub representing another significant step in creating more equitable and dynamic workplace environments.
